Forum,

Thanks for the help in advance. I have a question for the out of the box functionality of ArcGIS Online? I'm building an application for placing and updating generic points for Manatees. I want to be able to have a user place a point in water where Manatees live/spotted and populate attributes but if the user inadvertently drops a point on land, where it is imposable for the creatures to live, the database recognizes this and prompts the user to replace the point in a proper spot?. Is there a way of doing this either in AGO or ArcMap?

Thanks
Steve

There is nothing out-of-the-box as far as I know. You'd have to write a custom app to do this. The challenging part will be figuring out if you're over land or not.

thanks,

Mike
