Issue with Graticules on Projected Maps

I'm seeing an issue with graticules on projected maps.

I created 4 points in a WGS84 geographic data frame. I then added a graticule and observed that it passed exactly through these points as expected - the point coordinates were specifically chosen so that they would do so.

I then changed the CRS of the data frame to WGS84 UTM 31N. The latitudinal graticule line still passed through the points correctly, but the longitudinal lines were shifted about 5-6m west.

Since the data and the map projection share the same datum - i.e. WGS84 - I would have expected the graticules to still pass through the points. I double checked the point coordinates by hovering the cursor over the point.

Is what I'm expecting to see correct, or am I missing something fundamental about map projections?

I have attached my data and map in a zip file.

Thanks,
Karl
