I am trying to establish a relate to an Excel spreadsheet from a layer in an mxd file. I can set up the relate successfully, but when I analyze the map for errors before creating a msd file, I get the following error:
"Layer's data source is not supported"
The interesting thing is the the error is for the first layer in the layer list and is not part of the relate. If I remove the relate and analyze the map, everything checks out OK and I can create a msd file. So it seems that the relate is the problem but I have no idea why it creates the error for a different layer. All of the layers are in ArcSDE. The excel file is in a virtual directory.
Any ideas on how I can make this work?
