Use Python to Change Legend Properties

I have about 50 maps where I need the bold font removed from the legend text symbols. I wanted to make this change using Python as opposed to opening each map but wasn't sure if this was possible and which element would be used.

It doesnt look like you have that fine grained of control over the legend object. You can add and remove layers from it but not edit the style of the layers in the legend.
