I am using ArcMAP 10.2.1.

I just learned how to import an xy data file that contains northing and easting values.  When I import the data, I set the layer coordinate to NAD83 (HARN) US Feet.  Once the point layer resides in the ArcMAP file, I re-set the coordinate to NAD83 US Feet (no Harn) coordinate.  Then I export the attribute table to a text file in the new coordinate.

I am wondering if the above method of point coordinate translation is sufficient to change a points coordinate or if there are more involved details that I am neglecting to properly change a points coordinate system?
