Location-allocation with the same dataset

Question asked by Olop90 on Aug 26, 2014

Hi,

I am doing a location-allocation analysis on fire stations, for the aim of finding optimal locations in terms of population and fire occurrences. Therefore fires and population are used as demands. I have applied the models: Min Imp, Max Cov and Min Fac to the same fire dataset, as well as population. When I run the models, they all appears to show the same results. Fires/population covered, as well as the number of stations needed are exactly the same. I was therefore wondering if this is normal? Additionally, so this mean that the same result can be obtained across different models, even though their objectives are different? And last, if this is the case, it also means that it is not necessary to choose all models for this analysis?

Thanks in advance,

Oliver
