It's really annoying to get an email with Geonet Activity, and click on one and get this message: "You are logging in with an Esri staff email account"
I had some issues with my account once GeoNet started up; not the same issue you had but similar. I kept getting redirected to an error page regarding my account and email address used (same email address as my AGOL user account). I called up customer service and they were able to fix it for me. Seems like a few bugs in rolling out GeoNet, I'd suggest you give them a call too. Good Luck
