Seneca Resources Corporation, the exploration and production segment of National Fuel Gas Company, headquartered in Houston, Texas, explores for, develops, and produces natural gas and oil reserves in California, Kansas and the Appalachian Region including the Marcellus and Utica Shales. Seneca is paving the way for how the petroleum industry leverages online GIS. With both a Portal install and an AGO organizational account, Seneca is satisfying the needs of all 300 of its employees, external contractors, and others engaging in business with Seneca. Jacob Boyle, GIS Database Administrator, and Josh McLaughlin, Manager of Geomatics, stay up to date with every new press and product release. They have implemented numerous ideas and functions that have not even been explored by others in the industry. The team works well pairing technology with appropriate business functions. Seneca’s success and enthusiasm for GIS is  applauded by the whole natural resources team. Seneca has been very open about their practices despite being in an industry that is typically competitive and guarded. We appreciate their willingness to share their accomplishments during the Esri Petroluem GIS Conference Plenary, exemplifiing their dedication to improving the industry as a whole.
