When I go to the Ranking menu I can see 11 profiles of people with rank close to mine. Why 11 and no for example 50 profiles or all the profile? What is the idea?
Sneaky......maybe they want everyone to think they are in the top 11...
Stephan...I can confirm that you can't scroll beyond what they show. Even though you are in the 5th category, you name doesn't appear in my profile list. This may be a limitation of the software (mine shows 7 individuals) or they wish to retain some level of privacy on this site.
This is very interesting that your shows 7 profiles. I thought we all see the same number, obviously it is not so. My question is pointed towards the usage of of the ranking system itself. It is useful from my point of view.
It shows those 5 people ranked above and below you. Dan since you are 2nd, you only get to see 1-7. I mentioned this lack on another thread. stefan stamenov, you can check another person ranking and those +-5 of them by going to their profile page and checking their point status then ranking, similar to checking your own.
Yes, yes, I know I can check the rank in the profile.
Or maybe it's to show you the most imminent threats are those who are adjacent to you. You can see how many points it will take to move up in the rank, and you can see how close someone is from passing you.
I wouldn't want to think of anyone on this forum as a "threat", rather as fellow people with a GIS interest. I get the whole friendly competition aspect of this levels thing, but if people end up posting things for the sake of posting and gaining points, then the GeoNET community is not meeting its intended purpose.
