Flex Viewer retirement and HTML5

I am not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination. But, I do use the compiled version of the ArcGIS Viewer 3.6 for Flex. I do not use the app builder and I do not use the uncompiled version.

I insert XML tags and change tags here and there it give the Flex Viewer a different looks & feel.

I sprinkle the wonderful widgets developed by Robert and others across all my "homemade" in-house map viewers.

My question is:

With the retirement of Flex (and Silverlight) Viewers (compiled and all), will there be a similar approach for the HTML5 rollout? will there be a basic HTML5 viewer available within which people can insert their custom (compiled) widgets? if not, what will the choice be?

I have seen the ArcGIS.com viewer. Looks nice, but, we do not wish to place our data in the cloud, it must remain local to our servers. Will ArcGIS.com be the only choice? if yes, will the only choice be to move all our data to the cloud if we want to use a map viewer?
