Performance wise: cashing mxd where the source of data is file/ArcSDE geodatabase

I???m wondering if publishing mxd file that contains features classes sourced from file geodatabase is better (in terms of performance and speed of the web mapping application that read its ULRs form it) cashing them from ArcSDE geodatabase.
