WAB Near Me Widget - Single Feature no Distance Returned

I've recently added the Near Me widget and it's great except that when the buffer intersects a single feature no distance value is displayed; the pop-up information is displayed instead. It works as expected when two or more features are intersected. So, has anyone else experienced this? Maybe I'm missing something. I'm not self hosting the application.

Thanks for the feedback!

You are correct that no distance information is displayed when only one feature is within the buffer. We can look at adding this value to the attribute display in the future.

In the meantime, if you enable routing on your widget you can get a much more accurate travel distance value than the estimated 'as the crow flies' distance that is shown in the feature list.

For instructions on doing this, please see steps 5-7 in this doc:

Near Me widget—Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS | ArcGIS

Tip: You may need to turn routing off on your map, save it, and re-enable it for the options listed to show up in your widget configuration panel.

Allison,

I really don’t need routing. You may see an example of how I’m using this widget. Maybe there is a better tool available?

The measure tool would give you the distance between the two, but not the buffer capability. I'm not aware of other widgets might fit what you are trying to do here, but there are many more out there than the few I work with.

Perhaps if you post more about the must-have pieces of functionality you are looking for, others can chime in with suggestions of other widgets that might work.
