Hello guys,

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to use Collector or any ESRI product for multiple entries on a single feature point out in the field.

For example, we do manhole inspections and lets say we do a manhole inspection and fill out all the fields for this single feature point.

We visit the manhole next year and need to fill out an inspection again on that same feature point.

Is there a way to store the record for that feature point from last year before we over wright the data? IS there a way to set up multiple records an attach it to one single feature point?

Thank you

You could have a single point for the manhole and store all the visits in a related table. This way the history remains.

The other way would be to download the results at the end of the year, reset the data and overwrite the service to have an empty set to start the next year.

The best way depends on what other apps you are using. Do you have for instance a Dashboard pointing to this feature layer to show progress in the field?

There is a good walkthrough on implementing related tables in Collector: Related Tables – Exploring New Ways to use Collector for ArcGIS

Make the point not a point about the manhole, but make the point about the inspection.  There will still be a separate point that defines the manhole itself (ID, rim elevation, inverts, etc) but your feature in Collector would be an inspection point.  The inspection point would include a Manhole ID field to tie it back to the physical feature.  That's my suggestion.
