Hi Dan, thanks for replying, despite your semi-retirement. I'd read around the stuff on labelling and .NewLine, but I think(?) my case is slightly different. I'm not looking to create a new block of text from an expression, I'm just looking to preserve the line breaks in a block of text that's already formatted in the source file (an excel sheet in this case) so that I can use that pre-existing field in a pop-up without it appearing as one big paragraph. The text for the relevant field is different in each row, so there's no consistent expression I could apply to insert breaks if I was in 4.x. Or is your reply actually saying that the limitation on .NewLine in labels is indicative of an underlying universal rule that you can't have a line break in an AGOL table field in 3.x JSAPI? Thanks again for replying Neil

Hi Is it possible to get a fixed line break in a table in AGOL? I can insert one in Arcmap table via python or VB, but can't figure out how to achieve the same online. Eg. I have some text: Line 1 Line 2 As soon as I try to insert this into a table field in AGOL by whatever means (direct copy/paste, publish from excel as a hosted table etc), I seem to get Line 1Line 2 The break gets removed. Is it possible to keep it, or am I just missing something obvious? many thanks

Hi, just to add to the weight of requests on this enhancement. The ability to manually sort categories, and the order of stacking in a stacked chart is so essential to my particular use-cases that the Serial chart widget is almost useless without it. I understand that the category sorting can be overcome by some careful data preparation beforehand, which is OK but not ideal, but I've never found a way to cause the stack order to be anything other than random. As far as I can tell there's nothing to change in the underlying json in the AGOL Assistant that deals with this, and the seeming randomness of the stack order is enormously frustrating. E.g. if I create two comparison stacked charts that are different categories but split by the same field (say counts of animal types split by species for Year 1 and Year2), the fact that the stacking order of the species is random and usually different across the charts renders any visual comparison meaningless - and the whole purpose of the chart widget is as a visual aid (I think?). Anyway, the move to 'Under consideration' is promising - I hope that the stacking issue is part of the roadmap. And, just as an afterthought, does anyone have any idea what does control the stacking order?

Thanks Klara, that's very helpful. I'll go away and experiment with text cards and your html as you suggest. regards, Neil

Hi again, I've had a good look round but can't find an answer to this question. I'm likely to be missing something obvious as usual. When adding an item to a gallery card (e.g. an app from WAB) the main label on the card defaults to the name of the object being added and I can't see an option to change it independently. Is it possible to use an alias for this instead? I ask because I name my apps/maps and so on according to a convention that allows me to keep track of versions etc. Those names are not exactly useful as a gallery headings but I don't really want to change them at source to make them so. Any thoughts on the alias thing, or any other method to achieve similar are gratefully received. with thanks, Neil

Thank you Klara - so simple, I knew I'd be missing something straightforward.

Hi, new to hub and finding my way, so probably doing something fundamentally wrong. I have a custom html header that creates links to my pages in my hub site. As per documentation, by using the relative path for the page I can have it just appear below the header without a full refresh. But, when I go back 'Home' the page does a full refresh. Some template sites seem to avoid this (i.e. the home page just appears back below the header without full refresh - which I like) but I can't see how - there doesn't appear to be a standard setting or anything. e.g. of my header html <nav class="navbar navbar-default navbar-static-top first-tier">
<div class="container">
<div class="navbar-header">
<div class="navbar-brand">
<div class="site-logo">
<img src="https://myorg.maps.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/e1cfaff17f2849d8a5fe74278cb8d9c5/data" alt="logo">
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</nav>
<nav class="navbar navbar-inverse navbar-static-top second-tier" role="navigation">
<div class="container">
<div class="navbar">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav">
<li class="active"><a href="https://myteam-myorg.hub.arcgis.com/"><h5>Home</h5></a></li>
<li><a href="/pages/testpage"><h5>Page 1</h5></a></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</nav> I am not an html expert and picked this up from elsewhere, editing for my own org. details. Any pointers are gratefully received Neil

Hi, I wonder if this enhancement request ever got implemented? I still can't find an easy way to rename a tile layer published from a TPK, other than republishing the whole thing, which is a bit of a bind. Or maybe I'm missing something obvious (wouldn't be the first time...)

Any news on whether this is being looked at ESRI? The way it works currently seems slightly bizarre and counter-intuitive, and I can't even see what the use-case for it might be. It seems much more useful to be able to apply a selection via a URL parameter than to filter the selector itself. A big up-vote from me.

This idea gets a big upvote from me. Given that Survey123 collects multi-select answers as comma separated lists, and that dashboards are a great way to review and analyse survey results, the lack of a way to use a grouped values Category Selector to effectively query and filter on such a list via a "CONTAINS" statement seems like a big omission. And given that so many other widgets in the AGOL ecosystem allow these types of queries, could this not be a relatively quick win to implement? It'd be great to hear thoughts from someone at ESRI on this idea.
