Hi, I would like to harvest ArcSDE layers from external software, e.g. from GeoNetwork. Apparently it is necessary to copy java libraries that are provided in the ArcSDE package. What libraries exactly should be copied: something like dummy-apixxx.jar?And where can I find/download them? Thanks for the reply

Hi, Would someone have statistics about the use of different versions of ArcGIS Server: %age of users in 9.3, in 10.0 and in 10.1? Where can I find this information? Thanks for your reply.

Hi Tom, I did not find it on the system but I generated one from a WFS request. You can have an example in attachment. If you find the answer to my question I would be grateful. Piotr

Seems like the system generates the capabilities file on the fly. You have to create your own as explained in the webhelp Piotr

Hi, I am trying to use a different projection than the default one (WGS 84) in ArcGIS Server 9.3.1 WFS services. The ArcGIS Desktop Help advises to use external capabilities file. I have followed exactly the process described in the ArcGIS help, but the following error message is encountered: "Unable to Start service. Error (Server object instance creation failed on all SOC machines. Server Object instance creation failed on machine sdi. Custom capabilities file: Cannot read from file )" The same service without External Capabilities File works. I have tried to save the external file in an already existing virtual directory, but the same message occurs. Does someone have an idea? Thank you in advance for your answers. Piotr

Hi everyone, Here is an example of "attribute request" returning the rivers with cntry_name = Switzerland: http://sdi.unige.ch/arcgis/services/WFS_GDB/MapServer/WFSServer?styles=&request=GetFeature&version=1.0.0&srs=EPSG:4326&typename=WFS_GDB:river&Filter= <ogc:Filter><ogc:PropertyIsEqualTo><ogc:PropertyName>cntry_name</ogc:PropertyName><ogc:Literal>Switzerland</ogc:Literal></ogc:PropertyIsEqualTo></ogc:Filter> Piotr

Hi, From SDE data in WGS 84, I would like to execute a WFS request in order to get the rivers with rank 1 on an area defined by a BBox. The following request works (all rivers) : http:// <my server>/arcgis/services/WFS_SDE/MapServer/WFSServer?bbox=1,40,5,50&styles=&request=GetFeature&version=1.0.0&srs=EPSG:4326&typename=WFS_SDE:river If I had the attribute, it does not work anymore (only rivers with rank = 1; river_rank is the name of the field) : http:// <mon serveur>/arcgis/services/WFS_SDE/MapServer/WFSServer?bbox=1,40,5,50&styles=&request=GetFeature&version=1.0.0&srs=EPSG:4326&typename=WFS_SDE:river&river_rank=1 I have tested a lot of different syntaxes, without success. Does someone have an idea? Thank you in avance. Piotr

Hi, My map has 2 layers: accidents and hospitals. Is it possible to apply a WFS "spatial" request between the two layers? For instance, to return all the hospitals that are within a given distance from the accidents? (the distance is euclidian) Thank you in advance for your answer. Piotr

Hi, I wish to serve vector and raster data and metadata on the Internet, and I am planning to use the Geoportal. One condition for that is if the Geoportal is able to grant download privileges with regard to the user's profile. For instance, the administrator and advanced users are able to download data, but the simple user cannot. Is it technically possible? Thank you in advance for your answer. Piotr
