This happened to me this morning. I was creating a mobile map package and the application froze. Then the whole computer froze. I couldn't even open the Task Manager. I had to force a shut down on my computer. Now that project file is corrupted. I can open other project files, but not the one I was working on. It says that the version I'm trying to open is higher than my current version. But I'm at the highest version now and was this morning when I was working in it. This is really frustrating as I lost work. The data is fine, but the layer setup/symbology/labels etc will all need to be setup again. Arg!!!

Just to follow up.....to see the version manager without editing, right click on the SDE connection (with data owner or admin rights) and select Versions. That's it.

We also need this functionality. To map permit areas for water rights, we sometimes need to georeference a map that is on the second of third page of a scanned tif. I understand that I can use the extract subdataset tool to copy out the single tif, but this creates additional tifs that need to be stored and managed on our shared directories. It would be better for file management if we did not have to create additional tifs for georeferencing. Selecting a single page of a tif to display was available in ArcMap. It would be helpful to have this same functionality in ArcGIS Pro.

ArcGIS Desktop 10.5.1 I need to publish a dynamic layer to ArcGIS Server that resides in a flat SQL Server database (not a geodatabase). This is a legacy database that's been around for more than 20 years. Upgrading it to a geodatabase is not an option currently as there are many integrated legacy systems that depend on it. I'm wondering which option would perform better: adding the table as an XY Event layer or making a query layer. Are these the same thing or are there characteristics that make one better than the other? I know its not optimal to publish a query layer as a map service, but we need to keep the information dynamic to the database more than we need it to display quickly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Right click on the file and select Properties. On the General tab next to "Opens with", click the Change button. Select or Browse to the application executable that you want the file to automatically open to.

In case anyone has a problem removing a broken database connection that has been added to New Projects and keeps showing up when you create a new project (even though it is broken), this is how you permanently remove it. Open Windows Explorer to this location C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Esri\ArcGISPro\Favorites. Remove the *.json file. This will remove an orphan SDE connection that refuses to go away. You will have to add back any SDE connections that you want to keep in Favorites.

Joe, Did you find the cause of the slow performance for managing versioned data (through a registered service) in Portal? We are working on the same thing and have encountered several errors.

You need HPMS speed limit data. Check out the New York Dept of Transportation GIS site. NYS GIS Clearinghouse - NYS GIS Program Office - NYS Streets It looks like the NYS Streets dataset is what you need.

The giant room for the Plenary session on Monday is freezing cold. Bring a jacket! I told this to my colleagues last year and they were thankful for the warning. Wear comfortable shoes. There's never enough time to see all the workshops/sessions you want. If pressed for time, get your lunch ahead of time at the Ralphs (1st and G st).
