There are two things I can think of which you could check: 1. Is every thing residing on your virtual dekstop? What would work best is to have your MXD, your data and the location where you export the pages to, on the virtual desktop. In that case you minimize network latency as everything is done on the virtual desktop. Of course, after the export of the project you can copy it from the virtual desktop to your local machine. 2. The other issue could be that your MXD is very large. You can check this with PerfQanalyzer or MXDperfstat, these tools are not supported so always make a back-up of your MXD and it is at your own risk. If this doesn't help you can also check https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000012042 to see if there is something else which may apply to your situation.

These are the steps I was told to take. Hopefully it will help some others, too. Assistance - Move Data Store from one location to another (ie C: to E:). Just spoke with you on the phone and wanted to send a follow up email. My understanding is that you recently upgraded ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 and decided to move the Data Store location from C: to E: drive. We don't public documentation, however I've documented the workflow we discussed: (Note: In order to use the Data Store command utilities, open CMD.exe and change directory to <ArcGIS Data Store installation directory>\datastore\tools) 1. Make sure you have a backup of your Data Store (Relational and/or Tile Cache): Caution-https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/data-store-utility-reference.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_3F745CDA9DCD4B38A8F928CF25B49E78 < Caution-https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/data-store-utility-reference.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_3F745CDA9DCD4B38A8F928CF25B49E78 > 2. Unregister the Data Store: Caution-https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/data-store-utility-reference.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_FC8C7800AB4D42179D9A804F348EBF19 < Caution-https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/data-store-utility-reference.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_FC8C7800AB4D42179D9A804F348EBF19 > 3. Restore the Data Store and register it to the new location: Caution-https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/data-store-utility-reference.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_BAF681033AB248C2BF4718A917380C8D < Caution-https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/data-store-utility-reference.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_BAF681033AB248C2BF4718A917380C8D > • For example: C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DataStore\tools>restoredatastore.bat --target backupnameofthedatastore --source-loc C:\arcgisdatastore\backup\relational --data-dir E:\arcgisdatastore --server-url Caution-https://serverHostname.domain.com:6443 --server-admin arcgis --server-password password123 o [--target] will be the name of one the backups such as ds_uk0r1lfc-20160929040017869 o [--source-loc] should point to the old folder path containing the backups o [--data-dir] will be the new Data Store location
