It appears to work now! I just tried it again... and could not replicate the issue. I created a small table in Excel, a map via ArcGIS Maps for Office, shared to ArcGIS Online, then tried different iterations of changing location and/or attributes in Excel, confirming updated in the ArcGIS Map for Office, updating to ArcGIS Online, then seeing the update in ArcGIS Online. It appears to me that what did not work when I created the GeoNet item - and then created the support case - has since been resolved. This is great news!

Awesome! Great to see this was added sometime in December 2020 or January 2021! Previously this Power BI documentation page said ArcGIS for Power BI was not available for " Power BI publish to web" or "Power BI Embedded" functions - now the page says these functions are available, with a caveat: "Yes, for designers signed in to a valid ArcGIS account with the appropriate add-on license. Consumers do not need the add-on license to view published content." I believe this means that the required Esri license is a "ArcGIS for Power BI Premium App License" to publish ArcGIS content from Power BI to the web.

Thank you! What if the goal is not to add a row, but only to update columns within a row? When I tried before, I was not able to get that to work.

ArcGIS for Power BI is a helpful visual... except it is not allowed in publish to web or in Power BI embeded. This is a problem for public-facing reports, which are often based on public-facing open data, such as provided by government organizations. Idea is to allow ArcGIS Maps for Power BI when Power BI publish to web and Power BI Embedded. This page has an example of what happens when a Power BI report is designed with ArcGIS Maps for Power BI, and then published to web.

The Interactive Legend provides a great way to explore the map. But, it appears that its size is fixed. Idea is to allow the creator of the web app to be able to resize the Interactive Legend.

Interactive Legends are a helpful option when creating web apps, but they are not available when creating story maps. The workaround is to create a web app, then embed the web app in the story map. Idea: Provide Interactive Legend tool within Story Maps. (No need for embedding.)

Hello, I had some data in Excel, used ArcGIS for Office to share it to ArcGIS Online. After creating web maps, web apps, story map with this data, I found some errors in the data. I can correct the data in ArcGIS Online, but I don't think that I can change the point locations in ArcGIS Online? So I corrected the data in Excel, and I can create a new web map from it, but want I'd like to do is update the existing content in ArcGIS Online, based on the updates in Excel. Is this possible? Example of bad data: Fremont (city) has a point in Fremont, Virginia; it is supposed to be in Fremont, California. I corrected this in Excel, and when I share to ArcGIS Online it is correct; but it's new content in ArcGIS Online, so it does not update the exiting shared maps/apps.

This is exactly what RouteSmart does. It's built on top of Esri. I am not affiliated with RouteSmart, but I used to work for an organization where we used this tool for a similar purpose: Street Sweeping. Trucks leave the depot, sweep (created a point for each address along the way), empty at specific locations, continue sweeping, and return to depot. I believe the City of Sacramento uses RouteSmart for solid waste routing, at least for illegal dumping.

Thanks, @ManishPatel. Creating a web app (or apps) with the Interactive Legend, then adding those apps to the Story Map is a reasonable workaround. I was thinking specifically of the Story Map "Series" where you can have each tab's location be inherited from the first map; I think the embed method won't do this. Still, what you suggest is a good workaround - thank you. Hopefully Esri adds a widget for an interactive legend to story maps!
