Hi, I'm looking for a working example of a sign inventory solution. There is a solution listed in the Solution Gallery for local government but it doesn't demonstrate the actual usage of this. (Sign Inventory | ArcGIS Solutions for Local Government ) We have long struggled with how to track the sign inventory, something our field crews would love to do. Our challenge is how to capture the information either in the field or on a desktop application where it's not confusing as to the orientation and information about the signs. For example, a stop sign on a corner of a street. It's straight forward enough to capture the location, but how to show a symbol of the stop sign and the direction it faces? Further more, some stop signs have the street name affixed on the same post, how can that be shown with the names of the streets associated? That is one of the simpler examples, the signs do get extremely complex in congested areas. For one sign post in a downtown core, you may have upwards of 5 different signs on the post all with different information and potentially facing different directions based on the road they relate to. I'm very curious to see how others are handing this issue with signs and the posts having a one to many relationship. thanks.

Hi, I've been watching for any new apps, or solutions to be introduced in regard to ArcGIS & Augmented Reality. At the 2018 ESRI user conference information on the subject was scarce. An app such as AugGeo seemed promising but looks to have died before it really took off. The uses for the technology would be extensive for field work. Can anyone share options or potential solutions that maybe available currently or in the near future? Some of the commercial products I have stumbled upon seem to be a costly venture; I was looking for a solution that was tied to Collector or Survey123. An easy to use and navigate tool that could be utilized on a mobile device such as a tablet or phone which can display various data types (eg. polygon, polylines and points) with associated attribute data. I'm not asking for much. thanks.

Hello, I have been reviewing other municipalities to see what type of GIS governance model is being used. There are 3 different models with various pro's and con's that are the most common. For simplicity sake, I'm curious as to the approach others are using and won't delve into the specifics of the pros and cons as I see them. Centralized model, a fully established GIS Department with an Enterprise GIS environment that supports the entire organization and it's customers. Decentralized model, the organization has multiple departments implementing their own strategies and maintaining data and information for their area of interest with no real single GIS governance. Hybrid model, a varying degree of both centralized or decentralized. I'd like to hear from others as to how their organization is structured. Thanks.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue with the content in mobile and the zoom problem. Now that I see the search issue posted I'll be checking ours. End of June is far to late to correct this issue. That is 2 months away, it needs to be addressed much sooner.

Hello, I was hoping to get a clearer understanding as the approach other organizations have taken and what they have found when moving to the ESRI suite. Given budget challenges and constraints, we have taken the approach of using ArcGIS Online to augment our current GIS shortcomings and thus far its been quite successful. In years past we had reviewed the ArcGIS options but the online component had not yet matured to the degree it is now and so we waited. Now, we are looking to expand into using ArcGIS further, and keeping the budget challenges at the forefront it's important that we find a solution that meets our organizations needs moving forward but keeping the budget impacts at a minimum. Given that many software companies have moved towards the SAAS and PAAS approaches, (no different than ESRI) does it make sense to move to the ArcServer or have others found that the ability to customize ArcGIS Online and the tools offered closed the gap between the two platforms enough that introducing ArcServer is not as necessary as has been in the past? I would like to hear other opinions on the subject. thanks.

Hi, I haven't seen if this is yet possible or when hopefully it will be available. Currently we only use the ArcGIS Online environment and do not have ArcGIS for Server. We would like to utilize the GeoEvent features but it looks like without ArcGIS for server that is not possible. Can someone please confirm that? If that is the case, has there been mention of releasing a GeoEvent extension for ArcGIS Online? Thanks.

Thanks for the response. So, creating the ArcGIS online where ESRI runs the server and portal would have the same capabilities as the onsite install? Is there any glaring feature limitations by using one approach over the other?

Hi, I'm very new to the ArcGIS suite of tools and I'm trying to find out if ArcGIS for Server is a requirement in order to use the Data Collector app. My preference would be to create an ArcGIS Online account and setup my maps there, then use Collector to capture points in the field on a mobile device (Offline) which would then be sync'd upon reconnect when not in the field or connected. Is this functionality possible? I've been reading a lot about this type of scenario but there seems to be conflicting information about it. Keeping costs down would be the driving force behind this approach. Thanks.
