I have water pipe, water lateral and lateral point feature classes. I'm trying to setup a check to flag any later points that split a water pipe. To do this, I'm using the valency check where FC1 = lateral points, FC2 = water pipes and the valency at point location is set to operation and equal to 1. Therefore, if a lateral point splits a line, it would be connected to two lines and be flagged. The issue I'm having is that the check is including the water lateral layer in the check. Therefore, if a later point is connected to a water pipe and a lateral, it gets flagged, even though the FC2 is set to water pipes (which I thought would then ignore the laterals). How can I set the check to only look at water pipes and not water laterals.

We have a model that runs within ArcMap where it takes the selected features from several feature classes in an ArcMap session and converts them to a dwg using the export to CAD tool. The main model consists of a nested model called VCSetup as shown in the screenshot. VCSetup takes the selected features, uses "Get Count" to get the number of features and then the "Calculate Value" is used as a boolean where if the number of selected features is greater than 0 and less than 10000, it is true and else, it is false. Calculate Value is set as a precondition to the next step, "Copy Features". These features are then set as parameters to feed the export to CAD tool. The issue is, if the "Calculate Value" is false (no features from a feature class are selected), the "Copy Features" does not run and therefore, the Export to CAD tool fails as it says "Error 000229: Cannot open in_memory\Water_Pipes". How do we get around this?

I have an ArcSDE Raster Dataset of aerial imagery. A little while back the dataset somehow got tweaked to where it doesn't align correctly with the other datasets anymore. Perhaps is got accidentally georeferenced by someone. It is in the NAD83 StatePlane coordinate system. It is now misaligned/shifted by about three miles. I have verified the projection, map units, central meredian, point of origin, etc. are all correct. Any ideas on how to fix it? Something like undo a georeference or transform?

Hi Michael, we've got the CreateJobAdvanced working (its working in our test environment, at least) so we should be good. Even though we do have extended properties, CreateJobAdvanced seems to be the simpler route rather than scripting route . Thank you for providing feedback on this matter.

Hi Michael, thank you for the response. We have a WMX desktop setup with multiple users performing different tasks(steps) in various workflows. What I meant by notification is that we have a universal query setup where WMX reads the Windows user login ([SYS:CUR_LOGIN]) when it is opened (their user name is also configured in WMX) and sees their "currently assigned steps". With steps being deprecated, we thought we could change our query to use the "assignment" or "assigned_to" value instead, as it seems to be tied to the new path assignments. Since we have parallel steps, however, this did not work as only one user can have the job assignment whereas multiple users could have step assignments in a workflow. The end result being in a workflow with parallel steps, only a single user would see a job in their assignment query where there should actually be two users. We are currently looking into using the "JTXDesktopSteps.CreateJobAdvanced" method to create child jobs. Even though these child jobs can be independent, I didn't see a way where job properties could transfer to the spin-off job using the " JTXSteps.CreateJob" method. That was the second part of my question in trying to understand the difference between the two.

We had WMX running with parallel steps in our job workflows (and appropriate user queries to see their respective assigned steps). We just upgraded to v10.6 (from v10.2) and see that the step assignment has been depreciated. This has rendered out step assignment queries useless. We are trying to figure out a new way to go about this. We cannot use path assignments (which coincide with job "assignment") because we have workflows with parallel steps and this would cause a problem as only one person in the parallel steps would be notified, therefore we see no way to continue to run parallel job workflow steps (please correct me if I'm wrong). We have decided to generate spin-off jobs to remove the parallel steps. To that end, what is the difference between the "JTXDesktopSteps.CreateJobAdvanced" step and the " JTXSteps.CreateJob" step? Moreover, given our situation, any recommendations on the best way to proceed given our situation described above?

This is a bit off topic but what is the difference between the "JTXDesktopSteps.CreateJobAdvanced" step and the " JTXSteps.CreateJob" step? My original question is to that end, however, I'm also curious how users migrated from the step assignments to path assignments when there are parallel steps.

What is the difference between a "Feature Class" and an "SDE Feature Class"? Or a "Table" and an "SDE Table" that are hosted on the same enterprise gdb with the same direct connection. The attached screenshot below, shows my direct connection to an Oracle GDB. In the "Type" column on the right, you can see "Feature Class" and "SDE Feature Class". What is the difference between these two? Also, in the attached ArcCatalog screenshot below are two line feature classes. Their icons are different. Why are different icons signifying?

I have a feature layer that is published on ArcGIS Online and being edited by users there. I am not able to enable the "track edits" for this feature layer. Under the feature layer properties, when I click on "edit", check the "Track Edits" option and click save, the feature layer still shows Track Edits as being disabled. I have previously been able to track edits successfully but now it just won't enable. I've tried this on a couple feature layers and none of them allow me to enable track edits. Anyone out there experience this issue/know of a solution?
