Hi All, I used [ Calculate Solar Radiation | ArcGIS for Local Government ], it was fantastic. Now I change the panel size to be 2 meter. I got this error and I really don't know why and what does it mean? Dan Patterson

Derek Law Dan_Patterson Thank you very much for the help. Yes that is what I was looking for as I am using ArcGIS Pro. I did the steps then I got two issues: 1) with the multipatch layers. Do you think that I MUST change all of the multipatch layers to a normal layer or there is an alternative way? 2) with Elevation Surface. I really don't know what I should for this issue as all of my work perfect on my PC. Regards

Dear All, When I wanted to do part of my project on the car park, I found the available Basemap of the area is not updated more than three years. This image is exactly showing the available version of Basemap on ArcGIS Pro. I was able to get a recent satellite image from a privet sector in the same country, and when I added this image as a layer, unfortunately, I got the right recent image but Terrain of the Earth remains the same (un-updated). You can see the car park areas in the image. All of them are on a flat area without any differences. The concern is: when I want to place a Car Parking Shade that has a height of 5 meters from the ground, then the shade in some places will not be shown. This is because some of the car park areas have hill more than 5 meters. Is there any suggestion to solve this problem please? Or Is there anyway allow me to keep the bottom of the shade starts from the highest point of the car park ground? I thought to keep the pillars of the shade height more than 30 meters to avoid this problem, but at the same time not feeling satisfied as there is no car park shade with height of 30 meters.! NOTE: The car park shade is designed in SketchUP program, then import it to ArcGIS pro. Dan_Patterson

Dear Dan Patterson Thank you for your reply. Actually, the TIF image looks like with elevation when I add the TIF layer to the "Scene" 3D. See how is it showing: Do you think can I get some how to change the TIF to DSM or DTM? You can download the TIF layer which is compressed in this folder: university-najran.7z - Google Drive Thanks!

Hi all, I want to apply this example of Calculating Solar Radiation to my work: Explore Solar Radiation | ArcGIS for Local Government In the requirements of Calculate Solar Radiation Rasters task ( see image 1 ) , I have to "Enter the surface model you wish to include in the analysis. This can be a bare earth DTM or a DSM" in the Surface Model field. ( see image 2 ). (image 1) (image 2) From the internet, DEM is most of the time used as a generic term for DSMs and DTMs. This image on Wikipedia depicts the differences between DSMs and DTMs well: Now, I ONLY have a (.TIF) image for my project. This image was taken by a satellite with very excellent resolution. I suffered a lot of problem in running this example to my work as I don't have DSM or DTM for my work's area. I reach to this point after several investigation. The question: Is there anyway to either convert my high resolution TIF image to DSM or DTM, or any alternative solution? Note: There is not Lidar data or image for my work's area. Dan Patterson iamurray

Hi all, When I tried to import a 3D building from SketchUP, I used to create a Multipatch feature, then Add Preset. Then Create from Edit Tab. Everything was perfect for the last period. Suddenly, yesterday and today I found a new error " Failed to create new feature(s) ". I really don't know WHY? I tried the same thing from several computers but the same error. Any suggestion please? Dan_Patterson
