Hello, I was wondering if someone could help with an issue I'm having with ArcPad Trimble Positions Software. When downloading base station data, some of the file downloads fail with the following: "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized." Would it be safe to assume that this is a base station issue and not a Trimble Positions Software extension issue. Thanks

Hello, Is SDE 10.1 for MS SQL Server storing Base Table information differently? I've created a GIS Feature Class that I'm able to view in ArcGIS 10.1. When I go within MS SQL Server Management Studio, the base table is not present. If I go to MS Access to link a table, I can see the feature class table but I receive a "Reserved error -7747; there is no message for this error." when I try to link (ODBC). I'm confused as to why MS Access can see the feature class table and MS SQL Server Management Studio cannot. Thanks for any insight and tips.

In home range analysis, our department has used 95% MCPs (Minimum Convex Polygons) to develop animal home range polygon locations. The "Minimum Bounding Geometry" tool in ArcGIS 10 is essentially a 100% MCP tool (mapping a polygon based on the outside point positions of a cluster). I would like to create a polygon that uses the 95% confidence clustering (which helps remove outliers) of points.

Hello all, I've noticed that there is a Minimum Bounding Geometry tool now. How might I use this tool (or related tool within ArcGIS) to create a 95% Minimum Convex Polygon. It would appear that the before mentioned tool is performing a 100% MCP. Thanks for your help.

Hello All, Here is my task: I need to generate a map service that depicts soil sample locations throughout the state. I need to show these locations to individual county officials. However, I don't want one county official viewing other counties. It would be nice to generate one serivce with the ability to mask counties. Is this possible with ArcGIS Server 9.3.1? I really don't want to create 30+ services for the entire state. Thanks,

Hello, I would like to develop a model that will take a road network and randomly select a specified percentage (based on total road lengths) of roads (based on road name). An added trick is that once a road is selected, all roads that are considered a child to that road are also selected. Are there any tools developed to assist with this? If not, please provide ideas on developing a python script (script commands that I would need to investigate). Thank you.
