It's scheduled to be released this Thursday; we had to address an issue at the last minute which delayed it.

I'm not able to reproduce this behavior. Could you share some more details such as the specific layer settings regarding editing, a screenshot of the behavior you are seeing in Field Maps, and anything else that could be relevant.

Field Maps web only works for Enterprise 10.8.1 or higher. There will be a separate installer released next week that you can install on top of Portal. So while the mobile app supports 10.6.1 or higher, in order to use smart forms you will need to either upgrade to 10.8.1 or use ArcGIS Online.

In case anyone else runs into this issue with the shape/geometry fields, we plan to address this for our next update in March 2021.

Okay, I think I understand now. Feature templates can be edited locally, published to server, and then used with Smart Forms. You just can't edit the template online unless it's hosted. Correct, there's no plans to support editing templates for non-hosted feature services. There are no API's available for this. Thanks for reporting the issue with required fields. This seems like a bug - I'll investigate this some more and get back to you. I don't think re-creating the templates would change anything here.

Hi Molly, Field Maps web only supports modifying templates for hosted feature services. If you switch to the Form tab, you should be able to still build a form since the form is persisted as part of the webmap which you own.

Hi Cassie, There are no definitive timelines for some of these features. There are some underlying dependencies that are preventing some of these features from moving forward and we are working with those teams to get those blockers prioritized. This is especially true for required attachments and attribute rules. Calculated values (with FeatureSet support) and in-line related records are two of our top priorities for data collection and smart forms for 2021. Regarding your question about storing x/y values, I think once calculations with FeatureSets/Relationships are supported, this would be possible. As far as releases, the team is moving towards quarterly releases coinciding with ArcGIS Online updates. The next update is tentatively planned for late March or early April. Some small to medium sized smart forms enhancements are planned for that release; it will not include any of the features you asked about. Can you describe your data model a little bit more especially regarding the attachments. When the status is changed in the related table, does the attachment need to be required for that table or for the parent feature?

Field Maps supports location tracking which seems like it could work for you. As long as it's enabled for your organization and the mobile user has an ArcGIS Tracker license, it will record, display, and upload the tracks. Does that meet your requirements?

1. If the tracks are stored on the device before uploading, will the inspector see his own track line in real-time or near real-time? Probably not the optimal solution for us but it would be helpful too. Yes, the tracks are recorded as points on the device and then periodically uploaded. The tracks are rendered in the mobile app as lines and are updated in real-time as new locations are recorded. So you can see were you have traveled in real-time. 2. My understanding of " tracks would be uploaded every 10 minutes " (our technicians mostly walk without their devices plugged in) is that the associated point feature layer in ArcGIS Online storing everyone's tracks will be updated every 10 minutes. Is that correct? Yes, the mobile app (when not plugged in) will upload tracks every 10 minutes. So if you have multiple inspectors, they each will be uploading tracks every 10 minutes (but not at the exact same time). 3. Is there any reference about the server-side component to add the buffer to tracks? We don't take maps offline unless there's no connection on site (rarely), so that's not a major concern to us. This would have to be a custom process or script. There are some example Jupyter/Python notebooks we have created that may be of interest to you - though they would not do exactly what you are asking.

Hi @ChangNi1 There is no off-the-shelf solution for this. As you mention, there could be a server-side component that generates the buffers. There are going to be some limitations with that approach: 1. Tracks are uploaded in batches using a "store-and-forward" method to minimize batter impact and support offline workflows. So unless the device is configure with an MDM, at a minimum tracks would be uploaded every 1 minute if the device is plugged in (10 minutes if not). So the inspector wouldn't really have up-to-date information. 2. Since it does require a server-side component, it wouldn't work offline. We have had related requests like this come up before but it has generally been to make sure an inspector was close enough to an asset (e.g. a pipeline). It sounds like you just want the polyline to be optionally buffered and displayed. Is that correct? Are there any other requirements?
