Hi, i have been using insights for a while, and with my most recent project, have come across an annoying issue. I create summary tables of taxable values by city, etc, and then need to calculate taxable change. Then i want to allow my users to filter by land use with a predefined filter, but the predefined filter won't work. It works fine before i calculate the new field, but not after, on the same summary table. I have tested this multiple times and it is very aggravating. It seems that i have to create the summary outside insights and only use insights to create my report, i can't do the summary analysis in insights.

Hi, I am fairly new to insights and have run into an issue that kind of puzzles me. To give some background, I want to be able to use insights to allow my users to take a parcel point dataset, filter it for a given area from a polygon using a spatial filter, and then export it to shapefile or csv. All using predefined filters. The parcel dataset is too large to show all of it on a map card, so i have a predefined filter that filters by RT to get the total point count down. So the spatial filter is actually being done on a dataset filtered by a predefined filter. My problem comes that when I get my parcel subset using the predefined filter and then try to use the spatial filter which also uses a predefined filter to get a specific cdp for example, it tries to do the spatial filter on the entire dataset. When I make a summary table which shows the subset count and then try to export that it also exports the entire dataset and not my subset. Basically, my predefined filters are showing my subsets in table and map cards, but will not allow me to export those subsets. This is great for the visual, but does little to help my users make use of those subsets. Is this something I am doing wrong? My users need to be able to do this spatial intersect and output a list of parcels. I know if I do a hard filter on the point and polygon datasets I can get the spatial filter to work, but I want my users to be able to use a predefined filter.

I have the same question. I know how to export from my workbook, but I need to be able to export filtered summary tables from a shared page. I don't want the user to potentially be able to change any of the data they are filtering, just export the results. Maybe even be able to export the map card or chart as a pdf or image might be nice as well. But really need the table export.

Yes, this looks like you already have a community parcel dataset that you are planning to add information to which is your source data. I don't think any data is actually obtained from ESRI, it is all data from your organization and government agencies.

Yes to both, and neither have made any difference. I have written a python script that does the same thing using arcpy.mapping and am going to test that today. I saw a comment elsewhere that you can use calculate value and arcpy.mapping to add a layer to the TOC, but I wasn’t able to get that to work. Either I couldn’t get the syntax quite right, or you just can’t do it using calculate value. This kinda became a puzzle to solve for me. I have spent way too much time playing with this lol. I am currently using 10.3 if that makes any difference. Laura Becht, CFE GIS Analyst – Geoprocessing Representing Rick Singh, CFA | Orange County Property Appraiser 200 S. I created a test model that selects from a layer in ArcMap and makes a feature layer. I made the number variable as a multivalue string that I iterated over. When I ran the model, it selected each - in this case building - number and showed it in the existing feature layer. Only problem is it wouldn't create a new feature layer in the table of contents for some reason. It had no problem using the variable in the new layer name, just wouldn't display the new layer.
