There are so many things about this talk that spoke to me. The idea of embracing failures and viewing them as opportunities to grow and learn and get better is a huge part of how I try to think about my personal and professional growth. The thing that really spoke to me, though, is this idea that the more you know, the more you realize how little you know. It is something that I have found profoundly true in my career, and it speaks to a characteristic that I look for in all of the people that I work with. The humility that comes with knowing that you can never know everything, and that, as Dr. Lewis said, "Mastery is the act of reaching, not arriving", is such a key to being a curious, hard-working, passionate person. If I could, I'd only work with people that are reaching. If you think you've arrived, then you just don't get it. I had never thought of it this way, but I love this perspective and I think it will help me be more intentional in the way that I reach, and in the value that I place on the act of reaching itself rather than hoping for some sort of arrival. Thanks for sharing, Julia!
