Hi - It looks like publishing a custom theme is required to use it in StoryMaps. The publish button seems to be greyed out for our non-admin users. Are there specific settings required for a user to publish a theme they've created? I understand this is currently under beta so the documentation might be lacking at this time. Thanks, Ryan

Figured it out... I had to add my string to a single element list first. I still think the documentation is confusing.

Hi - Pretty simple question. What are the parameter types for the remove_users method from a group? The documentation says the parameter usernames is a " Required string. A comma-separated list of users to be removed." So is usernames a string or a list of strings? The method also returns a " dictionary with a key notRemoved that is a list of users not removed." However, it seems to be returning a dictionary whose value for the notRemoved key seems to be a list of my string characters: {'notRemoved': ['e', 'k', 'v', '5', '_', 'c', 'd']}. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, Ryan

You might have seen this before, but here is how the ArcGIS data types map to those of SQL Server: DBMS data types supported in ArcGIS—Help | Documentation . I've had issues with non-supported data types before. SQL Server's BIGINT, for example.

Hi everyone - Pretty basic question. Will registering a view that was created outside of ArcGIS improve rendering performance? I see here a mention that "h aving spatial information stored in geodatabase system tables improves performance times when adding the table or view to a map." But, that's all I can find on the subject. Could someone briefly explain the mechanics behind this? The situation is that we have analysts creating web apps and dashboards directly from SQL Server views. Our group makes extensive use of SQL views but does not take advantage of registering them. They have complained about the rendering performance, and I'm wondering if registering the view will make any noticeable difference. I'm just looking for some information that I can take to my colleagues rather than try to have the DBO user run a series of tests. (I personally don't have the ability to register tables and views on this particular database.) Thanks, Ryan

Did you ever figure this out? I don't have an answer, but I can tell you that registering a table or view with the geodatabase alters the schema. What type of field is your primary key? It has to be a unique integer.

I'll add that this could be considered a security issue by some organizations. Full file paths, including network drives, are included in metadata and some groups might not be keen on inadvertently publicizing this.

In Survey123 web, you can set it so that viewers can either see all records or only records that they have submitted themselves. Great feature. This choice applies universally to anyone who has the ability to view, whether public, organization, or groups. We have a need to be able to control this setting in a more fine-grained fashion. What we would like is the ability under Collaborate to allow one group to see all results and allow another group to see only their own submissions. Thanks.
