Hi James, just wondering what other options there are available if there is no 'id' section within the .iteminfo file? I only have 'name' and 'type' in the document when opened with notepad.. Same with all my other surveys (created from Survey123 Connect). I couldnt find the folder on arcgis that the survey published to, so created a new folder and moved the items into the new folder from 'all my contents'. Then I found the original published folder and deleted it to keep the folders list tidy. Now I'm having the same issue as the original poster, where the publish process will load forever. Thanks!

Hi Jake, excellent thank you for that! 🙂 I've just had another similar query come up - I have a hosted feature layer which was automatically created when I published my survey, then I have a number of hosted feature view layers that were created from the main feature layer. I am having to republish the survey due to a fieldtype error (fieldtype was set to date erroneously, but should be integer), which will delete the main feature layer. Is there a way for me to do this, then alter a section in the JSON of the existing hosted feature view layers to point to the newly published hosted feature layer? Thank you again

Hi I've read that it's possible to duplicate a dashboard by using 'view an item's JSON' on AGOL assistant and replacing the code under the 'Data' section. I would like to duplicate an existing dashboard and change the source layer to a different map, without losing all the configurations like filters, colours and actions between charts. How do I edit the JSON to point to the new map layer as the data source? I've had a look at the JSON code but there aren't any specific sections that stand out to me as being editable to point to a different map. Thank you

Hi, I have a hosted feature view layer, which is imported to a map, and the map will be used as a source for a dashboard. I am wanting the audience for this dashboard to not have access to a couple of fields in the view layer and map, due to privacy reasons. Obviously this is easy to do with the dashboard, by not creating a chart containing these fields, however I would like to prevent the audience from accessing this data in the hosted feature view layer and the table in the map. I am unsure how to go about this - because for them to be able to see the contents of the dashboard, I need to share the map with them (but not the view layer since that data is in the map.. I think?). I just found that it is not possible to delete a field in a hosted feature view layer. Are there any other ways to achieve this? Thank you

Thank you for your response! Unfortunately inputmask doesnt work on web forms, and I dont think regex would work if the value is automatically coming from a calculation in another field rather than being manually entered by the submitter...

Thank you for your response! I think this would work if the initial value from the calculation field was always 3 decimals; however the value could range anywhere from 0 decimal places to 5+ decimal places. OR, I might need to do some testing to see if this would give consistent results for values with more than 3 decimal places. Thank you again

Hi Ruth, Below is the example that was creating the initial issue. type name label calculation select_one bag bagparentq bagparentq begin repeat repeatgroup </> begin group group1 group1 select_one bag bagrepeatq bagrepeatq ${bagparentq} select_one item item item name end group So the field bagrepeatq, in repeat #1 would initially hold the value selected in bagparentq. I manually overwrite the bagrepeatq field by changing the value. But once I create repeat #2, the value of bagrepeatq in repeat #1 would revert back to its original value, rather than the overwritten value. Hope this helps, thank you

Hi, I'm looking for a way to truncate the value of a decimal field type question to 2 decimal places. I've tried Google search but it seems like all I can find is methods of rounding.. For e.g. I get a number from a calculation that is 1.1495. I would like to have another field with a calculation truncate this to 1.14, not round it to 1.15. Is there a truncate formula available for xlsforms? The values I get could range from 1.0 to 1,000,000.0 so I don't think I would be able to use concat(). Thanks for your help!

Hi, I have a survey which contains a repeat. For example, my survey records the worker name, location, date and bird types found during a field work. Since the worker can find multiple bird species during one field work round, this section is inside a repeat. One survey submission is one field round. To allow a dashboard to be created from this, the values from the worker name, location and date fields are also copied into hidden fields within the repeat. This repeat layer is the source of the dashboard. I am having an issue here - in my indicators counting the number of field work rounds, I can use the 'Distinct' button coupled with 'Field' set to ParentGlobalID, to only count the survey submissions, rather than the count including each of the repeats. The issue is with showing the data on a List, since the List doesnt offer the 'Distinct' button option. The way the survey is set up originally, each of the list details show one row from the repeat layer, so if a worker found 3 bird species, these will show as 3 separate parts on the list. For example, these will show as: ------------------------------------------------------------- Worker1 | Location1 | Date1 | Birdspecies 1 ------------------------------------------------------------- Worker1 | Location1 | Date1 | Birdspecies 2 ------------------------------------------------------------- Worker1 | Location1 | Date1 | Birdspecies 3 ------------------------------------------------------------- But I want to have one row for each submission, with the 3 bird species named together inside one row, like below. ------------------------------------------------------------- Worker1 | Location1 | Date1 | Birdspecies 1, Birdspecies2, Birdspecies 3 ------------------------------------------------------------- Even if I create a new field with a join() for the bird species names (and copy this into repeat layer) and use this join field in the List, this won't achieve what I'd like on the List since it will still show 3 rows of the above. For many reasons, the Dashboard needs to reference the repeat layer, and not the parent layer. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Hi Phil, thank you for your response. I managed to resolve the issue by using the once() in the calculation. However I have other recurring issues with the repeat (that are occurring when using either web form or field app), so I would be interested in checking out the 3.13 beta. Thank you for the link!

Additionally, the one select_one_from_file dropdown field that does work as normal on Edge with appearance 'autocomplete' is the only one csv file out of all my external csv's that has less than 20 rows. I also had a colleague test her survey with an autocomplete select_one_from_file field - her file has approx 18 rows and her field is working fine.

Hi Ismael, I'm having a similar problem with Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.864.54 (Official build) (64-bit). In one survey I have 6 select_one_from_file fields. 2 of them contain geopoint data, all of them are autocomplete. One of the select_one_from_file fields (one that contains geopoint) dropdown is working fine. But all other 5 are not working - the field is there, the arrow is there but when I click on the field rectangle, the dropdown list doesnt appear. However, unlike ClaireC's example, my fields are not greyed out. My non-external select_one fields that direct to my xlsform's choices tab work as normal. I've tested your question with a test survey - with a select_one_from_file field, if I change the appearance to 'minimal compact' from autocomplete, the field seems to work as normal.

Hi I have a field inside a repeat which is set to copy the value of a field from outside the repeat, to give a default that the submitter can manually overwrite. This works fine in the field app (testing in Survey123 Connect 3.12) - the value of the field 'bagparentq' is shown automatically in the field inside the repeat 'bagrepeatq'. And the fields in any of the repeats can be manually altered, and the manually selected values are retained. In the web form though, the field in the repeat correctly shows the selection from 'bagparentq' to begin with. However, once the field is overwritten then the + button is clicked to open repeat #2, the field in repeat #1 changes by itself to the value before it was overwritten. Any idea how to ensure the overwrite value is retained when there are further repeats added?

Hi Reginald, have you had the issue resolved by any chance? I'm having the same issue but unable to pinpoint where the issue is arising from. I'm also using select_from_file questions. Thanks!
