UPDATE: Ran into an issue where if a user manually selected another group filter from the list, the added code to use url parameters was overriding user selection, essentially only allowing the group filter defined in the url to be used. Added a variable to track initial load and only fire urlParamater check on that initial load. if(this.loadCount == 0){ if(urlParams.filter){ this.loadCount++; this.grpSelect.set("value", urlParams.filter); setTimeout(lang.hitch(this, this.setFilterLayerDef), 2000); } }

Appreciate the feedback. I think your argument could be made for many of the url parameters. For example, the search box is open by default, yet the ?find= url parameter is extremely valuable. I think, like with most of the url parameters, the need is to limit the steps required by the end user to achieve the desired result, especially if they are beginning from a location that has already narrowed their focus. For example, our need for this is stemming from non-gis/non-technical users accessing the map via another non-gis application. Specifically they are starting their journey on an app they use to manage projects. They navigate to a specific project, open the record, then click on a "view in map" icon that launches this app (either embedded or in a new frame). Instead of requiring them to recreate the steps they've already gone through in the project tracking app (finding their desired project etc) , our goal is to minimize the steps required on the user side (especially given they are not all GIS folks.) We are currently using the ?find= url parameter, which is a great starting point and is most likely enough of a solution. But, we wanted to pursue the option to filter results via url parameter. Another proposed use is to have default map states based on the department of the user. For example, users in the project tracking app belong to groups. If a user is a member of the public works group, then we can simply append the url parameter values to filter on map items by the public works group. Again, we are just assessing what is available in order to respond to user requests.

Could be a naive beginner's question, but I trust you all to be nice We'd like to be able to load our WAB app with a group filter enabled based on a url parameter. For example, http://somelocalgovernmentdomain.gov/OurAwesomeWABApp/?filter=ByStatus&filterValue=Active would load the app with the group filter "By Status" applied with the value of "Status." I know that this is currently not a supported OOB url paramater, but any guidance on whether or not this is possible through customization would be greatly appreciated. Shaun

Only one question from my survey is showing in the Analyze tab. The other questions that I wish to analyze are either text or single choice answers. This has not been an issue with other surveys I've created. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello everyone, We are currently experiencing an issue in the Explorer app when searching for intersections. For example, searching for "Main St & 9th St" returns no results. Using the same search in AGOL returns results as well as in all of our other online applications. We are using a 10.2.2 composite geocode service. The issue is persistent in both the iOS and Android applications. We are having no issues with searching for addresses or place name aliases. Any thoughts? Is it a known bug or possibly a configuration issue? Thanks!

We recently rolled out Explorer for ArcGIS to a pilot group to test it's functionality and our organizational design. One thing that was pointed out to us was that the basemap does not appear in the "Share - An Image of the map" when a sketch is present on the map. Only the sketch is present in the resulting png file. This is only occurring on android devices, and only on newer devices (Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Galaxy Edge running 6.0.1 .) One additional note is that the older android devices and the iOS devices are creating jpg files where as the newer android devices with issues are created png files. We also just discovered that this occurs is the GPS icon is active as well. ! I've attached the images from both an android and an iOS device. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just an update. We contacted ESRI support and they were able to resolve the problem. There was a hung jobs folder that was preventing the site from successfully exporting. The folder itself was a few months old and only contained a lock file within in. Once the folder was deleted, the site exported successfully from both the admin API and from within python. Here is the location of the jobs directory where we found the hung job: C:\arcgisserver\config-store\system\jobs

Did you ever find an answer to this? We also are looking for details as to how many members of our organization can access the application. Thanks!

In trying to backup our AGS Site on ArcGIS Server 10.2.2, we are receiving the following error message: Export operation failed. Name is null This error is occurring whether we are attempting to export the site from within the arcgis/admin interface or using a python script. When checking into the server logs, we find the below error message: SEVERE Nov 25, 2015, 10:43:36 AM Export operation failed. Name is null Admin ATLAS.LYNCHBURGVA.GOV 7196 I searched for the error code 7196 in the Core server log codes without any success. Our AGS site consists of two machines that participate in a single cluster. All other admin tasks (stop/start cluster etc) work without issue. Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing the error? Alternative workflow for backing up the AGS site? Thanks in advance, Shaun

Daniel, Everything seems to have cleared up and we haven't had the same issue since. I'm still not positive on the cause of the issue, but it appears that removing the group and updating the index seemed to trigger the fix. Manually clearing the caches of the remaining trouble items was the final fix. It's quite possible we were having server issues when items were being cached/indexed. Thanks for the follow up!
