I'm sure we are not the only people who have experienced the jumpiness of the Attribute Table autozoom... With auto zoom selected, when you highlight a record, it often times goes to no-mans-land on the first click. I am actually going to have to put into our customer documentation to be ready to click twice in order to get to the record. Please comment on your experience with this. Has anyone come up with any solutions?

Hi Philip: There is not currently an out-of-the-box way to do this in either ArcGIS Mapping for SharePoint or in ArcGIS Desktop. For ArcGIS Mapping for SharePoint, we do have an outstanding feature request to enable the joining of SharePoint lists to layers within an ArcGIS Server map service for display within the Map Web Part. This is an enhancement that is currently under consideration for a future release. ______________________________________________________ How is this coming along? Very much want to be able to automatically update mapservice based on entry into sharepoint list.

Fullscreen We are working on coming up with the best way to have the webpart fit on any screen resolution. Thought that the fullscreen option would solve this, however the ribbon disappears - this limits the user's interaction to only activating/deactivating the layers while in fullscreen. Any solution ideas: A) Autoadjust to client resolution B) enable functions such as table interaction and other tools while in fullscreen Thanks

We will potentially have more than the thousand threshold of items in certain lists and even for lists that only have a few hundred, loading speed has become an issue. For now, we have deactivated layers by default, leaving it up to the user to select. Also, clustering seems to help with speed - although when you use clustering on several layers, the symbology looks very similar. Just wanted to get some insight into strategies that may be used to optimize server speed and optimize the use of Arcgis for Sharepoint in regards to speed. Any server settings that should be looked at that could affect speed? Any ArcGIS for Sharepoint techniques that may have not been considered? Default loading progress circle seems to take a while to show also - any loaders that people are using that will show right away?

Phil, Thanks for your suggestions. I have created the new 'ArcSDE_License' entry as New String Value. I successfully downloaded 'authorization.ECP' However, this part of your suggestions I don't understand: "Modify and copy string from the ECP file." Best I could figure out was to open the ECP file in notepad, copy the contents, then goto 'Modify' after right-clicking the 'ArcSDE_License' and paste it in there. However, this didn't work. What am I missing? Thanks

Alagiri, I would like to use the web part communication sample (with the piechart). However, it is unclear to me what it is using as its source data. In the code, it is calling to: QueryTask queryTask = new QueryTask("http://serverapps.esri.com/SDS/databases/Demo/dbo.USStates_Mercator"); Is this a REST service? I have been seeing QueryTask associated with REST services. I would like this to be pulling data from the Sharepoint list on my site. So, when a list-enabled point is selected on the map, the typical info window pops up, but also this piechart in the associated silverlight webpart. Would it be simply switching the QueryTask out with a CamlQuery? Thank you.

Greetings- Do you have to do something special when querying a list with a view? Normal: List citiesList = web.Lists.GetByTitle("2012 List"); //Which I guess queries AllItems?? With View List citiesList = web.Lists.GetByTitle("2012 List.ViewName"); //Something like that for a view?

I was able to reproduce the error! It is occuring when you take one map, upload the attribute query extension, get that one working.... Then, upload another attribute query extension for a different map, by replacing the current extension, but leaving the icon for the original on the first map - it breaks both of them. So the question is, how to have more than one of the same extension in there - it is not as easy as just renaming the extension - can't do that... trying to change the namespace breaks things... how are users going about this? So that you can have more than one attribute query and not have to replace because it has the same name in the extensions folder. I tried to completely rebuild it also and there are references in there that are hard to find... Just simply taking working extension and somehow renaming.

Interesting - So, I built the same tool with another computer and it worked! Must be something to do with one of the references - possibly ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Extensibility I was getting a message saying that I need to use the 2.4 version from the computer that was producing the error. I would choose the 2.4 version and the error would go away - so I thought...

Greetings, I am able to get the default Sharepoint Attribute Query to work (drop-down list connected to a Sharepoint list named Cities) When I try to connect it to another list - on the same page - being very careful to get the list name and internal field names correct, I get the following error message: I have tried multiple times... What could this be?

So, all elements that call the field name should be using only the internal field name? There is no use for the alias name (other than for display purposes)? I am able to get the pop-up to show with the drop-down items, but when you select, nothing happens afterwards - no query, no error message, no new layer creation...

Thank you - this is very helpful. The task that I am attempting is to take the Query by Buffer Sample: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/silverlight/samples/start.htm#BufferQuery And instead of it using a map service, use the generated locations from the Sharepoint list. Would I call out to the list, itself, or the selected layer? Here is the string that needs tweeking (from the Query by Buffer sample) - assistance using the following code would be great! _queryTask = new QueryTask("http://sampleserver.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/BloomfieldHillsMichigan/Parcels/MapServer/2"); _queryTask.ExecuteCompleted += QueryTask_ExecuteCompleted; _queryTask.Failed += QueryTask_Failed;

Hi I am needing to add thumbnails to the info popup as well. I see the provided suggestions. I have created the two columns and an access view. Not quite sure what to do after that - I chose single form when opening Access - Access is now open. Where do I put the provided code/Update sharepoint with new query? One issue that I see is that this appears to be a manual process outside of Sharepoint. With several hundred images coming in each week, this could be a tedious process. Matt, have you come up with a Sharepoint-only solution. Thank you to you both! <edit> scratch that! the above code appears not to be necessary! I forgot to enable those layers in the 'pop-ups' dialog - that was all that was necessary!!

Here are a couple simple questions: 1) location of close button - the close button is in the middle of the side panel. how do you get it to justify right? I altered the margin, but that seems like that could be a bad way to do it (dependant on resolution)? seems like aligning it to the right would be the proper way. 2) how do you change the width of the sidepanel? what tag should I be looking for? Thanks! <edit: I was able to get the width of the sidepanel to dynamically change by simply doing the following: Instead of: <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> Do This: <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> Now I just need to figure out how to get the close button to dynamically change with it! Currently it is in a static location <edit> the close button was fixed simply by Aligning Left This process brought up one key question. When reopening the sidebar after closing, the sidebar is much too small. Have been trying to figure out how to have it auto resize the same way it does on loading the page. The only solutions I have found are: In <sdk:TabControl x:Name="SidePanelContainer"..... A) Grid.ColumnSpan="2" ---turns out to be much too big B) <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefiinition Width="*"/> --have also tried "Auto" and "100" </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> </Grid> ---just doesn't work and creates blank page Some help here would be much appreciated!!!

This is extremely helpful - wish there was documentation like this already provided. One issue: When you do this, (which works great), the other toolbar elements go away (like browse, edit, etc.). How do you create a small toolbar with those elements on the top right of the map so the functions can remain. Permanent dock for those tools. Thanks!
