I stumbled across ArcGIS for Teams when I copy/pasted a link to the item details page of an ArcGIS Online Web Map into Teams. I've figured out how to search my organization for other web maps and use them within the Viewer of Teams. I was hoping to be able to search for and use an ArcGIS Experience from within Teams too but my attempt to do so was unsuccessful. If that's not existing functionality would it be useful for me to post it as an ArcGIS for Teams Idea?

Thanks Josh Doing as you suggest and setting the default visibility at the map rather than experience level works for me. - Graeme

I'm relatively new to Experience Builder and have authored an experience with four hosted feature layers and one hosted vector tile layer. All five layers show up in the Map Layers widget of my published experience I've learned how to set the default visibility for each of the hosted feature layers by clicking Data in the left sidebar of Experience Builder. However, when I do that the hosted vector tile layer does not show up in the same place and so I am not able to set its default visibility. Is it possible to set the default visibility of a hosted vector tile layer in an experience?

In ArcGIS Pro I know that I can Open an Attribute Table and use the leftmost grey cell to right-click and Zoom To a feature. I also know that if I right-click on a symbol patch under a layer that has been classified by unique values that I can open the Color Picker to change the color used for that value. What I would like to be able to do is to have an additional option available when I right-click on a value to Zoom To Value and for that option to zoom to the extent of all features with that value.

In the help for ArcGIS Pro 2.4's Python CIM access there is "Example 3: Modify layer symbology" which has this code: # Reference a project, map, and layer using arcpy.mp p = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject('current') m = p.listMaps('Trail Routes')[0] lyr = m.listLayers('Loops')[0] # Return the layer's CIM definition cim_lyr = lyr.getDefinition('V2') # Modify the color, width and dash template for the SolidStroke layer symLvl1 = cim_lyr.Renderer.Symbol.Symbol.SymbolLayers[0] symLvl1.Color.Values = [250, 250, 40, 50] symLvl1.Width = 8 ef1 = symLvl1.Effects[0] #Note, deeper indentation ef1.DashTemplate = [20, 30] # Modify the color/transparency for the SolidFill layer symLvl2 = cim_lyr.Renderer.Symbol.Symbol.SymbolLayers[1] symLvl2.Color.Values = [140, 70, 20, 20] # Push the changes back to the layer object lyr.setDefinition(cim_lyr) I think the documentation was written before finalization of ArcGIS Pro 2.4, where this functionality was introduced for the first time, because it seems to contain capitalization errors, and is missing a key line that I picked up by watching a YouTube video from Esri's 2019 Developer Summit. This code should work correctly: # Reference a project, map, and layer using arcpy.mp p = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject('current') m = p.listMaps('Trail Routes')[0] lyr = m.listLayers('Loops')[0] # Return the layer's CIM definition cim_lyr = lyr.getDefinition('V2') # Modify the color, width and dash template for the SolidStroke layer symLvl1 = cim_lyr.renderer.symbol.symbol.symbolLayers[0] symLvl1.color.values = [250, 250, 40, 50] symLvl1.width = 8 symLvl1.effects = [arcpy.cim.CIMGeometricEffectDashes()] ef1 = symLvl1.effects[0] #Note, deeper indentation ef1.dashTemplate = [20, 30] # Modify the color/transparency for the SolidFill layer symLvl2 = cim_lyr.renderer.symbol.symbol.symbolLayers[1] symLvl2.color.values = [140, 70, 20, 20] # Push the changes back to the layer object lyr.setDefinition(cim_lyr) The missing line (which I added in the above) is: symLvl1.effects = [arcpy.cim.CIMGeometricEffectDashes()] Is `arcpy.cim` an undocumented ArcPy module, function or class, and to learn about it, is reading the ArcGIS.Core.CIM Namespace .NET SDK API Reference the only way? I have reported what I believe to be the documentation error using the link at the bottom of that help page. I have also asked this question on another site as symbology - What is arcpy.cim? - Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange.

I can see now that it has been added to Map Properties which helps for some requirements like simple exporting of a clipped image or basemap - see https://gis.stackexchange.com/q/311315/115. I can put the clipped Map into a rectangular MapFrame with an invisible border to achieve a "pseudo clipped map frame". Can the Map class now be given a clipLayer property for ArcPy to access, please? Unfortunately, a "pseudo clipped map frame" will not allow me to put grids and graticules along the graphic clipping feature's edge. I think we still need a clipLayer property on the MapFrame class too.

Kory and Xander I thought I saw the ability to use a polygon feature (not just a digitized graphic) to reshape a Map Frame in ArcGIS Pro 2.3 Beta 2. but when I looked at ArcGIS Pro 2.3.0 just now it looks like the only way to graphically clip using a polygon a Map Frame is still by digitizing it. Did that functionality not make it into 2.3 Final, or did I imagine it?

I wonder if you are looking for an answer to this question like I am: https://community.esri.com/thread/227501-does-21-day-trial-of-arcgis-pro-unlock-access-to-arcgis-tutorial-data-for-desktop

I often suggest that people should undergo a 21-day Trial of ArcGIS Pro, and I provide them with exercises based on the ArcGIS Tutorial Data for Desktop that is downloadable from my.esri.com. I've always assumed that the 21-day trial unlocks access to the ArcGIS Tutorial Data for Desktop but someone has asked me to verify whether that is the case, and never having undertaken a 21-day trial myself I am not certain. Can you confirm whether someone undertaking a 21-day Trial of ArcGIS Pro is able to download the ArcGIS Tutorial Data for Desktop from my.esri.com?

It's an aside from the ArcGIS Idea being discussed here, but my observation as a longtime user of ARC/INFO (since before ARCEDIT and AML existed), an ArcGIS 8.0 Technology Preview participant, and a national technical support manager of an Esri International Distributor during the MapObjects/SDE/ArcView/ArcInfo Workstation to ArcGIS cutover was that most large ARC/INFO sites did not cutover to ArcGIS until most feature equivalency was achieved and that took until ArcGIS 9.2 about 6 years later. The effort in replacing the architecture of ArcGIS Desktop 10.x by that of ArcGIS Pro is no less trivial, and I think is going well. Both architectural replacements have involved massive platforms, and I think the effort involved on many fronts should not be underestimated. I have preferred working in ArcGIS Pro rather than ArcMap for the last 2-3 years despite wishing that both had Arc: PULLITEMS available.

Hi John I'm afraid that I dropped the ball on this one for which I apologize to those who tried to help. Local support in Australia referred it to Redlands where it became Case#02075240 and the advice given was: They are recommending you to uninstall FMV entirely, the add-in and the extension, and follow the install steps again. Something may have gotten confused in the install that is throwing this error. You can can also try using a test video from the links on this page: http://www.esri.com/products/arcgis-capabilities/imagery/full-motion-video to make sure that it isn't something in the Metadata throwing off the VideoMultiplexer I responded: Which particular test video with which particular CSV of metadata are they suggesting that I test with? The Cheyenne one at that link (CheyenneVAhospital.mpeg4) does not have a separate CSV of metadata to multiplex. They clarified: It should be the CheyenneVAHospital file. That file has the metadata built in to the video file, so that it is only a single file. As it says on the download: "The file combines the video data with the associated metadata in one file." if you are able to load this video into the multiplexer then it may be data specific, rather then related to the environment. However if the you would prefer a different dataset, you can also use the tutorial data from here: https://community.esri.com/message/625504 It looks like I did not reply again after that. I am assuming that, since my incident arose while prototyping for an unsuccessful tender bid, that my need to resolve it was overtaken by events. I have not had a requirement to work with Full Motion Video since. - Graeme

Thanks Gert It's been about 5-6 weeks since I spent an afternoon looking at this, and it may be a while before I get a chance to test it, but I think your explanation now makes sense so I'm happy to assume that you have filled in the gaps of my understanding. - Graeme
