Most excellent Kory. I know 2.3 just got released, and my Pro Cookbook tutorial book is already out of date, but do we have a generic timeframe for 2.4? Summer or Fall '19?

I just starting using ArcPro 2.3.1 so I'm still a bit (ok, very) loyal to Desktop. I began with a very simple project: tidy up attributes. Meaning I'm simply fixing spelling, grammar, capitalization, etc. Nothing spatial related. Please understand, I'm not a 'hater' as much as this may come off as one. I'm focusing on making the transition just as I did from ArcView 3.2 to ArcMap. I'll grow to love Pro for what it is, I'm just experiencing these learning curves with a great gnashing of teeth!! I'm currently going thru a Pro book I got online, but skipping ahead I didn't see any help with my issues below. I'm looking for advice from the community! My problems/gripes are such: 1. I can't freeze fields 2. I tried using the Highlight Field function, but it doesn't work. Tried on 2 PC's and nothing. 3. I sorted one column. When I make a change, it auto re-sorts. Thus I lose my 'place' of where I was simply typing and tabbing to the next field. It's rather distracting. 4. In addition, after the auto re-sort, the field widths revert back to some sort of default width. 5. I can't quickly copy/paste cell contents from one cell to another. I have to select inside the cell and then Ctrl+V. In ArcMap I could go vertically and copy/paste about as fast as I can hit Ctrl+V. Huge bummer. 6. I can't dock the attribute table at the bottom, under all the other pinned and docked windows such as Contents and Pop-up. 7. Using the horizontal scroll bar...Scanning...ugh! I will say I found the Shift+Wheel mouse moves the table horizontally. Although, it's a different scroll acceleration than vertical scrolling. 8. If I want to change 1 character, such as capitalizing a street name it takes 3 clicks. One to select/focus the cell, one to select text (it highlights all text in cell), one to drop the cursor between characters where I can finally fix the mistake. I believe in Desktop I could do this quicker. Two clicks. 9. I can't type in a cell, hit Enter and then begin typing in the next cell down. I have to click into that next cell...again. But, as above, the table 'regens' and shifts all over again. Argh!! 10. No Find & Replace. It was easy, albeit buggy, in Desktop. I did find the Python examples and got this to work, but it's an extremely slower process. I've already up voted for Find & Replace here in the community forums for future releases. 11. When viewing a small selection set of records in 'Show Selected Records', a wheel scroll should scroll the table horizontally, since there is not enough records to scroll vertically. 12. Highlighting records in a Selected Records view highlights the cells as yellow, just like in Desktop. But when I change a value, the yellow highlighted records are un-highlighted. In Desktop, they stay highlighted.

My IT Director recently noted some suspicious activity on our proxy from letsencrypt.org and noted it was coming from my PC (along with a few others). I work directly across from him, so he found me first. I'd never heard of this site, so I agreed it sounded fishy. Ironically, I was in the process of Sharing data from ArcGIS Desktop (Advanced) to ArcGIS Online. I recently began having problems sharing to ArcGIS Online, so I've been forced to use my laptop to publish, which actually bypasses our WiFi proxies. From the laptop I have no issues publishing data. My question is: does ESRI employ this Let's Encrypt site during the upload process? Is there a certificate I would need and/or our proxy is blocking it and that's why I can't publish from my Desktop GIS?

On several occasions, I have inadvertently added a vertex to my polyline feature, when I'm simply trying to update a attribute feature by clicking the right-arrow (>) to open the list box. It seems there is a small area just to right edge of the iPad screen to the right of the right-arrow that I keep adding a vertex BEHIND the attribute window. Not a big deal to click the "Remove Vertex" or whatever the tool is, but if I'm not paying attention I can very easily screw up my polylines. I know I need to better train myself to not "aim" for the right-arrow, but I'm finding I'm not the only one in my organization that appears to click the right-arrow. Is this considered a bug or "design" issue?

So I removed the added text for the scores from the pop up list. Now my pavement scores read: 10, 9, 8..etc. Whereas before they read 10 Excellent, 9 Excellent, 8 Very Good...etc. I figured it was the text not being recognized by Collector on iOS. Turns out, I was wrong. I still cannot get this 1 field to work!

I've created a very simple pavement condition data collection service for ArcGIS Online, and using Collector to collect the data. I only have a few fields I need to change/edit, but only one field is giving me fits on iOS on our iPad 4. I don't have any issues using same service on Android. The problem field is a numeric valued and is a simple 0-10 with NULL values available. The legend has the 1-10 value added text for easier collection. Basically, "10 Excellent", "1 Fail", etc. Only the number is being stored, right? In iOS, I can select a value from the domain list, but it never updates in the menu. I'm attaching a few screen captures to help illustrate the bug. Any ideas what's going on? Do I need to remove the added text from the pop up list?

I've noticed some differences as well. I uploaded a simple road centerline to populate road quality. I'm using a domain for the condition rating in a 1 thru 10. I can update a feature just fine on Android. A feature on iOS does not get recorded. I scan select a value and hit Done but it doesn't change the value. The interesting part is I can change values for the other fields (ie Date, Name (domain)) on the iOS version without issues. It's JUST the most important field I'm trying to collect!! Any ideas why? Also, on a side note: can I re-arrange the field order for Collector? I re-arranged them in ArcMap before I uploaded the service, but it's not reflected in Collector or ArcGIS Online.

Hello All I'm looking into purchasing some Dell Latitude E5250 and Dell Latitude E5540 latops to run AGX. They each have a variation of an Intel Integrated HD Graphics cards. My question is, does anyone else out there have these laptops and/or graphics cards? They appear fairly common so I thought I'd ask the community. A little background, my laptop is a Dell Precision M6100 with an AMD FirePro GL graphics card and an Intel Integrated graphics card, but AGX does not run properly. AGX will lock up, or we'll get immediate errors and we can't run the software...at all. I've been working with ESRI support and together we're not finding solutions, unfortunately. However, before I purchase these additional laptops, I'd like to know with some assurances the Intel integrated graphics cards will be okay for AGX. Thanks in advance for any replies Matt

Hi all I'm looking at investing in some laptops or tablets to run ArcGIS Explorer Desktop and some other programs (DWG TrueView). I'm mostly looking at Dell's, but I'd like to hear how it runs on other devices. I'm currently looking at the Dell Venue 11 Pro, Dell Latitude 14 5000 Series laptops, or MS Surface Pro 3. There was another post on dual touch pinch zooming and adjusting the zoom speeds, but what other issues are you experiencing? Thanks in advance, Matt

I have the hourglass problem too. I tried the above workaround turning off the Automatically detect settings without success. I'm running Windows XP SP3, AGX 2505 on the laptop. This is a field laptop and intended for disconnected viewing. Can I disable ArcGISConnectionBin.exe altogether so AGX runs more smoothly?

Hi Mark That did it! I realized one of my problems was I was exporting the layer package and then simply Refreshing the layer in ArcGIS Desktop Explorer. I realized I needed to remove the layer and re-add it. Here is my final code: <xsl:when test="FieldValue[contains(., '.pdf')]"> <a target="_blank"> <xsl:attribute name="href"> <xsl:value-of select="'file:///C:/GIS/ScannedDocuments/'"/> <xsl:value-of select="FieldValue"/> </xsl:attribute> <xsl:value-of select="FieldValue"/> </a> </xsl:when> I appreciate the help, Matt
