Hi, Justin. Try this. . . .Copy and insert your Excel Chart as a "Picture" in ArcMap using Paste Special/Picture. When exporting to PDF, use: General Tab, Export Map/dpi 400/. . .Image Quality "Best",/ Format Options, RGB, Compress Vector Graphics (Off), Adaptive, JPEG Quality "Max", Vectorize Layers . . , Convert Marker Symbols . . (Off), Embed All. . Fonts (Checked). You should get a clean chart image in your new PDF. Good luck!, Joe

I agree with Mitch. . . .export to PDF. Open the new PDF and FILE/Save as other/Picture/JPEG. Name the file. Open your word doc. and Insert/picture the new JPEG. Tip: if you will use this file often. Place it into your stamp tool in Adobe (create custom stamp). I will be available always. .

Hi, Joris. You should start here. Points solar Radiation Specific questions will arise after digesting all this. Simply put. Knowing the sun's declination in relation to the latitude and exact time of day for each line segment would get you close to your goal.

Hi, Gary. search Google for "Cow map symbol", click images. Save one (a .jpeg for example) and add to your symbol library. Go to the Style Manager, open a marker folder, right click, new marker symbol, change Type: Picture Marker Symbol, Picture, navigate to your new "cow" file, OK. Rename your new marker symbol. Good luck!, Joe

Hi, Lucas. Often it can be more efficient to use, say Adobe Illustrator, to archive the desired layer transparency if you really get stumped in ArcMap. You would use then use the 'stamp tool' or some other method to add the layer after exporting your map. . . Good luck.

Hey, Ashley. I looked at your CVS data and your Lat/Long fields need switched. I often help folks land xy data and I have them do this: Open a blank ArcMap/Convert your data to decimal degrees (you have)/Create a default geodatabase for this project//set your map's projection to "WGS_1984_World_Mercator"/add your table and right click to Display XY Data/make sure your x field is your longitude and y is latitude(your field names need switched)/next while in this dialog box click Edit (on the bottom)/choose Geographic, World, WGS 1984, OK. Your points will land correctly and you should then export to your geodatabase and accept the feature class in your map. Remember, it is best to do this in a blank ArcMap, nothing in it but the table. Good luck! Joe

Hi, Shawn. The problem might have to do with printer selection. Once my rulers were missing and the MXD wouldn't export. I noticed that ArcMap was trying to reference printer drivers I no longer had and as a consequence the paper settings were greyed out. Un-select "Use Printer Paper Settings" in the Page and Print Setup menu. Set the MXD to the new printer in the Page and Print Setup dialog and set the paper size again, then check Use Printer Paper Settings. Rulers should return and you will be able to export. I don't think the ArcMap version was the culprit. . .hope this helps., Joe

First, you should go into your "Style Manager" and see what you are working with. . . .add some more shields, signs, etc. in order to use the right sign style for the number of characters. Good luck! Adding to your library will be worth the effort.

A lot of state DOTs show a format similar to your example, for viewing and printing their state transportation map in (smaller file size) sections from their official website. If you export your map to any "vector" format, then use Adobe Illustrator to separate the regions, you should have good luck. . . You are right. There are a lot of ways to accomplish this. If you do go a different route and are pleased with it, please share!

Hi, Lyndy, I have seen strange behavior like this before. . .we have found that opening a fresh ArcMap and copying the data frame over is simple enough to try. I know it will not answer your question as to what is going on. Also, we have seen lines show up (or disappear) once in while upon printing. Our fix is when printing a PDF, under the advanced tab, check "print as image". If you have Adobe Pro, simply select the line and delete. We have seen strange lines and when one (accidentally or not) did some labeling in design view. Sorry this this reply is low so tech!
