Create a spreadsheet as suggested. Out of curiosity, where are these doubles in the first place if they are not in a table, spreadsheet or feature class? If you mean that they are within a point or polygon feature class already then export the attributes to a Standalone table using the Table to Table tool and use that as an input to the XY Event Layer. the 2 values come from the geocoder output.. my idea is to create this geoprocessing tool and deploy it on our arcgis server, so basically I want to call the service that does the spatial query with those 2 double values as parameters, am I missing something??

Use the Make XY Event Layer tool to convert the double coordinate values to points and then buffer the points created in the output layer. You could permanently export the layer to a real point feature class also using Export or Copy Features or several other similar tools. Thanks! it was helpful however I need a TABLE as input for the XY Event layer, any chance to create that table from a couple of doubles?

I have the lat lon from only 1 point I need to buffer to clip a layer, but I need to create the shapefile from those 2 double values used as parameters. Any help with the intermediate TOOLS I have to use to do that?

Services not able to start after server restart due to windows updates I'm running ArcGIS Server 10 enterprise, standard on windows 2008 server. Everytime there are windows updates pushed the server restart and when it comes back the services are not available (what I normally do is to is: 1) STOP ArcGIS Server Object Manager service 2) STOP ArcGIS SOC Monitor service 3) RESTART ArcGIS Server Manager Service service 4) START ArcGIS Server Object Manager service (this automatically starts ArcGIS SOC Monitor service due to dependency) and that tends to fix the issue. The server comes up, I can check logs.. check the services are there and even restart them (and check the connections are made to our arcsde server) but the rest call still comes up empty Any idea what could be the issue?? PS: when I restart the server at any other point I don't seem to have issues (meaning: I cannot replicate the problem just restarting the server)

I have a feature layer with attached dijit horizontalslider Initially the layer is not visible and I'll like to programatically enable it (I'm doing that) but with the slider set in the middle (value 0.5, i.e. Opacity= 0.5). I cannot do this.. the layer appears with the slider on the beginning but no opacity and as soon as I move it to the right it'll go from 0 to 1 Declaration: // FLOOD LAYER featureLayerFL = new esri.layers.FeatureLayer('<s:property value = "arcGisFeatureLayerUrl" />/mxds/manmapC/MapServer/12', { mode: esri.layers.FeatureLayer.MODE_ONDEMAND, outFields: ['*'], opacity: 1 }); legendLayers.push({ layer: featureLayerFL, title: 'FLOOD' }); featureLayerFL.hide(); dojo.connect(featureLayerFL, 'onMouseOver', showTooltipFL); dojo.connect(featureLayerFL, 'onMouseOut', closeDialogFL); featureLayerFloodSlider = new dijit.form.HorizontalSlider(); featureLayerFloodSlider.id = "Flood Slider"; featureLayerFloodSlider.value=0.5; featureLayerFloodSlider.layerID = 12; featureLayerFloodSlider.minimum = 0; featureLayerFloodSlider.maximum = 1; featureLayerFloodSlider.tooltip = "Flood"; featureLayerFloodSlider.intermediateChanges = true; featureLayerFloodSlider.showButtons = true; featureLayerFloodSlider.style = "width:100px"; //featureLayerFloodSlider.onChange = function(){slideLayerOpacity(12,this.value)} featureLayerFloodSlider.onChange = function(){slideLayerOpacity(12,featureLayerFloodSlider.value)} featureLayerFloodSlider.handleSrc = "https://serverapi.arcgisonline.com/jsapi/arcgis/1.1/js/dojo/dijit/themes/tundra/images/preciseSliderThumb.png"; Part when I make visible and try to set value to 0.5 featureLayerFL.setVisibility(true); featureLayerFloodSlider.value=0.5; map.graphics.refresh();

I would reccomend that you ensure that the HTML is set up correctly so that the grid renders correctly. Sometimes things fail and you may not even know that the grid never really did get instantiated correctly. Here is a sample of how I create the grid in-line HTML code, basically it is a similar example to what ESRI suggestes. this came out of some testing that I was doing. Note that I am using "dojoType="dojox.grid.DataGrid" jsid="grid" slightly different than you are. <div dojotype="dijit.layout.ContentPane" region="left" style="width:300px"> <table dojoType="dojox.grid.DataGrid" jsid="grid" id="grid" rowsPerPage="5" rowSelector="20px" style="height:300px; width:250px"> <thead> <tr> <th field="OBJECTID" width="20px">ID</th> <th field="PERMANENT_IDENTIFIER" width="100px">PermID</th> <th field="META_PROCESSID" width="100px">MetaProcessID</th> </tr> </thead> </table> </div> To gain access to your Dojo widget you should only have to require the appropriate dojo libraries/modules (if you are not using the AMD notation) dojo.require("dojox.grid.DataGrid"); dojo.require("dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore"); Then you can get the widget by using the following code in your JS page or script block. var grid = dijit.byId('grid'); Note that you will need to make sure that all your HTML renders correctly in order for everything to work correctly. I have encountered situations where I thought it was the code for the Grid for example but it turns out that the HTML before that was failing and therefore not all the objects were getting set as I expected. Use something like firebug to ensure that there are no load errors on your page. Good Luck and hope this helps in some sort of way. Diana It was exactly this.. 2 ids with same name previously on the same html... another error came up on the STORE now (on the ItemFileReadStore,js TypeError: _4e is undefined but I'll have to check the code before going on) THANKS TO ALL!!

Situation: geometry 1: Point geometry 2: segments (from an array of segments already returned by the call to the geometry service - buffer function) I need to loop thru them getting the DISTANCE (again using the GeometryService distance function) just to compare and try to find the closest one... but the call will fire the onDistanceComplete(distance) whenever is done.. how I'm supposed to be waiting for this value efficiently?? just looping while the event is fired?? should I have to use a deferred methodology?? basically trying to make something like this works for (segm=0; segm = segments.length; segm++) { geom1 = point geom2 = segments[segm] HOW I WAIT FORTHIS RETURN? geometryService.distance(distParams, function(distance) { currDistance= distance}); //Comparison currentDistance with minDistance }

Getting the error trying to set a datagrid. grid is defined as: <table data-dojo-type="dojox.grid.DataGrid" data-dojo-id="grid" id="grid" data-dojo-props="rowsPerPage:'5', rowSelector:'20px'"> <thead> <tr> <th field="BUS_FID">ID</th> <th field="L_F_ADD">From</th> <th field="R_T_ADD">To</th> <th field="PREFIX">Prefix</th> <th field="PRETYPE">Pretype</th> <th field="NAME">Name</th> <th field="POSTAL_L">Zip</th> <th field="STATE00_L">State</th> <th field="COUNTY00_L">County</th> <th field="MCD00_L">MCD</th> <th field="PLACE00_L">Place</th> </tr> </thead> </table> both: dojo.require("dojox/grid/DataGrid"); dojo.require("dojo/data/ItemFileReadStore"); (btw: like in the example http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jssamples/#sample/find_map_datagrid .. error occurs on trying to access grid since dijit.byId('grid') is undefined) //Create data store and bind to grid. store = new dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore({ data:data }); var grid = dijit.byId('grid'); grid.setStore(store); PS: store and data have the right values I managed to get the structure with: dijit.byId(document.getElementById("grid") but then the grid.setStore(store) function gives me grid.setStore is not a function

Here's what I'm dealing with: I have map and a toolbar ... regular CLICK on map will do an IdentifyTask on the VISIBLE layers... From the toolbar I have a tool that, when selected, a different IdentifyTask is launched... To handle the different actions to take according to the tool selected I have a select-case according to the selected tool on the click event, do I have to do the SAME (a select case according to the tool selected) on the identify results??

I use expressserver from lizardtech, maybe its different. I know support for 102100 did not exist out of the box, i needed to manually configure the server to handle it. Maybe digitalglobe needs to do the same? using another provider is not an option for now.. and DG is not providing 102100 but all the others... question is WHY I CANNOT SET UP THE DEFAULT PROJECTION TO WHATEVER I LIKE?? has to be a way (using version 2.1 with almost the same code sends a SRS=EPSG:4326 <Title>DigitalGlobe Web Map Service</Title>
<SRS>EPSG:3395</SRS> <SRS>EPSG:3857</SRS> <SRS>AUTO:42004</SRS> <SRS>EPSG:4326</SRS> CHANGING FROM <script src="http://serverapi.arcgisonline.com/jsapi/arcgis/?v=2.1:mad:" type="text/javascript"> to <script src="http://serverapi.arcgisonline.com/jsapi/arcgis/?v=3.2" type="text/javascript"> CHANGES THE PROJECTION... with 2.1 is WORKING... with 3.2 NO
