I have a topo map with various polygons representing lakes. The label applied from the name field of the attribute table is the same size for each lake whether the lake is huge or tiny. Is it possible to make the label automatically change size to match the polygon? Maybe the label could be a percentage of the polygon size?

I have a vector layer that represents "wetlands". I can't seem to find a specific symbol for wetlands which I have seen on other ArcGIS maps. Also, the same thing for the symbol that represents waterfalls. See images below for symbols. Where can I find these symbols? I have symbols that look similar in an Arc Desktop folder put they are not exactly the same.

I have several .gdb files which contain hundreds of files within the .gdb files. I have managed to put together a topo map with ArcMap by Adding Vector data and adding some of the .gdbtable files which are lakes, contour lines, etc. Are labels, like lake names usually within the .gdb files? Would they be in the .gdbtable files? Or, in a different type of file within the .gdb file? I can use the ArcMap Label Manager to add the lake names but I would rather find the existing data, if that data might be in the .gdb files.

Thanks Mattias, so if I setup a ArcGIS server, do I just put all the .jpg files in a folder named "tile" and then in sub-folders with the level number?

Hello, I appreciate any help and information you can offer me. I am new at this and trying to learn fast. I can view a topographic map on a website online and when I right-click the webpage it reads "Arc GIS API for Flex..." and the source code reads: "This application was built using Adobe Flex". I zoomed in all the way and I was able to locate a separate URL for a 256x256 tile that seems to be a .jpg file. There are separate URLs for each image, each with a distinct path. I would like to download a small area of the topo map and set it up on a different server. I don't have access to the server that the topo map is on. I can download individual .jpg files and stitch them together but I assume the map is not really .jpg raster files, what format are the original topographic tiles? How can I find the vector data?

How is a basic topographic map stored on a ArcGIS server? Is the data vector or raster? Is the data 256x256 .jpg map tiles with a set for each zoom level? What I need to figure out is how to get a topo map from a website setup with: "This application is using ArcGIS API for Flex version 2.3.1. Build date 2011-04-26." I have permission to download the data but the website owner does not know how to provide the data to me. I would like to use the topo map on my hand-held Garmin GPS. I can get 256x256 .jpg files from the site.

You are able to download the data for free here. I was able to download a .zip file with many folders and files in it. I imported one of the files, a .shp file into GPSMapEdit but it only gave me a green shape of the park without the topo data. How can I view the topo map of the park assuming it can be viewed from the files I have. The zipped file is too large to attach.

Thanks for the help. I checked the link you provided and it seemed like I should use the "Metadata Management Tool" at the link below. I tried for hours but I could not figure out how to download a topographic map of the Quetico Provincial Park which is along the Ontario border with Minnesota. Any ideas? https://www.appliometadata.lrc.gov.on.ca/geonetwork/srv/en/main.home
