This script has been working extremely well in my workflows but now I am looking to expand on it a little more. I am looking to close all gaps in the line. For example, in the screenshot Xander provided above I am looking to close the gap between the light blue and orange points. In this example, the gap in the line would be included with the orange points. I have been trying a few different things but am still unable to figure this out. The following screenshot better explains this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Thank you for this thorough explanation. I do now understand as to why I was returning duplicate events.

Hi all, I have seen this question posed a few times through different forums but have not found a good explanation up to this point I have around 161,000 points that I am running the Locate Features Along Routes geoprocessing tool on in ArcGIS 10.2.2 on a single route feature (centerline). All of these points are off the centerline I have been applying a search radius. The outputted event table returns around 850 duplicate records. Is there a reason for this? I've tried exporting only those points that contained duplicates in the event table into a new feature class as well as playing around with the search radius but it still returns the same duplicates. I cannot find a pattern as to why this is. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thanks all for your suggestions. They were all extremely useful. I ended up using the latest post and then joined the output using the LineID's in both the point and line layers to get the CLASS field into the outputted line layer.

Hello all, I have a field in my point layer that contains values, for example, go something like the following: 1,1,1,1,1,1,3,3,3,3,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,3,1,1,1,1 I am looking to create separate line features for each set of unique values. Using the example above, one line feature would be connecting the first 6 points that contain 1, the next line feature would contain the 4 points that contain 3, etc. I initially tried using the Points to Line geoprocessing tool and populate this field in my point layer in the Line Field. However my results looked like example 1 (See attached LineExample1.PNG). I am looking for whenever there is a different value to a point, the lines do not join (see attached LineExample2.PNG). So in short, I am looking to do LineExample2 and not LineExample1. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hello all, I have a question regarding clipping and mosaicking imagery that I been trying to figure out. Here's the process I have been performing: I have several (hundreds) feature class polygons in which I have used to clip imagery out of into separate raster files. The attached file shows one of these files. However, as you can see from the attached file in the lower right hand corner, a little section of imagery was not included. The reason for this was because this was fly over imagery and the original raster did not include this little area. What I have been doing is clipping NAIP imagery out for these little areas and then merging them together. However, there are several files that I need to perform this task to (around 100) and was looking to see if there was more of an automatic process to get these areas included in the rasters. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Craig

I am also looking to append only certain features in the dwg in which a field (in this case "Layer") is attributed as "TEXT" only. Would this get added in near the end of the script that you mentioned above around the "if dwg[:-4] ==fc:" line?

Darren, Thank you for this script. When I trying running it against my data, it appears as if the script runs (I don't get any errors) but it only runs for less than a second and my output that the DWG layer should append to remains empty. I have been playing around with the script some with no success to this point. Would you have any suggestions? Thanks again.

Darren, I am getting the following when trying to add the code that you provided when updating the Validation. I am updating the compare_list with only those layers I want to consider in the TOC. Do you have any ideas what may be causing this? Thanks again.

Thanks Darren. One quick question: Would you keep the string parameter value list and inline variable substitution in the model when you export it to Python?

Darren, That works well as I will know the names of the layers. The only issue that I have with this process is that it is possible that not all layers will be in the TOC and I do not want layers not in the TOC available in the dropdown. Thanks again!

Is anyone aware if this question was ever answered? Even though it was posted several years ago, I am running into the same issue. However instead of rasters, I'm dealing with feature classes. I can filter the dropdown selection in the parameter by feature class type but am looking to filter this dropdown to specific feature class names. Thanks.

Darren, I have a simple question for you and I apologize in advance as I am not too advanced in Python. How would this script alter if I wanted a user input parameter for them to select the .dwg (getparameterastext) and whatever the name of the dwg is, it would append that data to an already created feature class with the same name. I also agree that you do quite a great service to this group. Thanks again!
