Not really as the way we share out data to Portal is as a 'referenced' dataset, so people can update the data in ArcGIS Pro, or in Portal, and the changes are always being applied to the source data. We didn't want duplicate data being published to Portal/AGOL. Since it is referenced, it doesn't come through as a 'hosted' feature layer and therefore doesn't allow users to extract.

Hi all, I am trying to work out the best way to do quite a trivial GIS task for users who don't use desktop GIS. Mainly I want to allow people to export a dataset to shapefile format, or csv, xls etc. For a bit of context, we store our spatial data in a SQL database. Desktop GIS users make an ODBC connection to the data, and we also publish as web services for our web GIS users. Often we publish as Map Image layers as most users only need to view the data and not edit, but this does limit some of the functionality within Enterprise for extracting data. The majority of our users view data within Enterprise, and sometimes they want to export the dataset out as a shapefile or in table format. This is very simple to do in desktop GIS, but requests are becoming more frequent. I have some script files setup to convert some of the frequently requested data, which is fine for myself to run, but ideally I want to allow people who aren't desktop GIS users, to self serve and select whatever data they want to convert. I am trying to work out the best way to do this. I know I can run a geoprocessing tool, such as feature class to feature class, and share it as a webtool to Enterprise, and that would work for a specific dataset, but I was wondering if there is a better way to do this, and ideally let the user select what dataset they want to convert/extract?

We have some datasets which used to open fine on Hub, suddenly not working, and we think it is likely since the recent update. The data set is “Taxi Licenses - Public Register” – this is a document link and should open straight to this webpage (https://my.middlesbrough.gov.uk/en/AchieveForms/?form_uri=sandbox-publish://AF-Process-29656bd3-a1a1-4a40-8c05-bb2f69bc5bb9/AF-Stage-b24a2d57-0613-45f1-a968-ac8b2262908c/definition.json&redirectlink=%2F&cancelRedirectLink=%2F) When you select it on the Open Data site you get an error message stating www.middlesbrough.gov.uk refused to connect. This works in the “My content” screen and I have checked all settings and they are correct. I have just tried opening another Document link dataset and this is failing to connect also. We had a similar issue after the update of CSV files no longer working in Hub, but once I posted in here that was resolved. Not sure if this is a similar issue?

Thanks Tom, is this an issue just within our organisation and our documents/URLs, or is this something that will affect everyone?

Since the update to Hub we have noticed that we can't open any CSV documents? I noticed this when I uploaded two documents today, both appeared on the Hub site as per usual, one was a CSV and one was a PDF. The PDF works fine when opening, but the CSV just hangs. The page looks like it's trying to load as you can slightly see a side bar to the left, but it hangs then eventually the page times out. I have tried opening new and old CSV files, to check it was not just an issue with this particular CSV, and it is the same for all. It's like CSV's can't be viewed any more within Hub? Anyone else had this issue? Thanks

Hi Robert, I have just ran into this problem myself. I am new to Notebooks but wanted to try it in Pro, then I ran into the error and found this thread. I noticed you said you got it to work by creating the Notebook within the Folder within the catalog pane. When I try to do this I get the same error? Did you literally just right click within a folder and create notebook? I have also tried the Windows folder shortcut solution, but this also didn't seem to work, but this could have been due to not being entirely sure what I am doing! When creating a folder shortcut you have to specify two folders, one for the shortcut folder, and the other for where the data is. I don't really have any data in mind particularly, I just wanted to connect to a Notebook and import some libraries and so on. So I created the shortcut within my personal folder, for example "\GISDrive\Data\ESRI GIS\ArcGIS Pro Users\MyUserName\Template Map\Shortcut_Folder", then for the data folder I pointed it to the same 'Template Map' folder, seeing as I don't have specific dataset I want to use at this point. It created the shortcut fine but if I try then to create a Notebook it fails. Is there a particular folder where the Notebook needs to be pointing to, for example C:\? Thanks

Hi all, Is it possible within the ArcGIS Online analysis - Plan Routes, to select multiple route end stops? By default you can can select a stop to start the routing (depot), the stops to visit, and an end point. This is fine if for example I have a school bus leaving a depot, picking up 50 pupils, and arriving at a single school. What I am trying to do is arrive at multiple schools. So it will start at a depot, pick up 50 pupils, and drop off at say 3 different schools. I can't seem to see any options within AGOL for this, does anyone know if it is possible? Thanks Dan

Hi all, Is it possible to reorder stops using the plan routes analysis tools within AGOL? I am setting up a routing application for our organisation and one of the requirements is the ability to reorder the stops if required. For example, say a school bus left the depot (first stop), then routed to pick up: Student A Student B Student C And finish at the last stop which is a school. By default it would pickup the students based on the shortest route, say it went Student B, Student A and Student C in fastest order and then stop at the final stop which is the school, but we need the ability to say Student C actually needs to be the first pickup. Is this possible? Thanks

I learned what I had to do was convert the ASCII files into raster files, this then enabled the files to be used as a surface in ArcGIS Pro.

Hi all, I have recently started using ArcGIS Pro Scenes and have been working with Mastermap height data, and it's great. I have then added in some Lidar/DSM data, from both Esri's Living Atlas, and also from Environment Agency, and it looks good but I want to view this data in 3D rather than 2D. Similar to what a Scene has by default for the Ground Terrain 3D surface (image attached showing what mine looks like). Basically a 3D DSM. I have done this sort of thing in the past with other software such as QGIS, and even perhaps ArcMap, but I am struggling in Pro. I am by no means an expert in 3D and Lidar data, but I do want to use it and understand it more. I firstly tried to download data from the Environment Agency, and this gives me ASCII files, but I think these are basically raster files (?) and I probably need some sort of vector dataset, with a XYZ so I can plot each height value by it's attribute? I am sure in the past I got Lidar data as a shapefile or some other vector format, but when I look on EA website, or the Defra website (I have an account), then it only gives me options for WMS and so on, which I don't think are any good if I want to make this data 3D. I have been looking into this for a couple of days now and I thought I would ask how other people are doing it. I have watched some online guides and people have created a LAS dataset from LAS files, but I can only seem to get hold of ASCII files or Web Map Services. Not sure if I just need to find somewhere to download the appropriate file types, or if I am over complication the whole thing! Thanks Dan

Hi, It would be great if there was a way to organise surveys a bit better. Currently I believe the only sort options are the standard 'by date', 'alphabetically' etc.? It would be really useful to be able to group surveys or put them into folders. We have users who are creating hundreds of surveys and some fall into natural categories such as budgets. But as it is these can be hidden amongst hundreds of other surveys and finding them is a bit long winded. Thanks Dan

Hello, This may already be an idea but after a quick search I couldn't find it. Quite a simple one really, but if there was some way to amend the URL which is generated after the creation of the survey that would be great. Currently it is a random bunch of characters and if asking someone to follow the URL it would be good if it was a friendlier name. I realise if embedding the survey onto websites etc., you could hyperlink it, but this isn't always ideal. Thanks Dan
