The UniqueValueInfo.description is intentionally left out of the documentation as it does not have a use in the current API. You should use the label property in stead of the description.

Lindsey, I too would like to see this functionality. I have a parcel layer and a related property info table. The property info table gets updated periodically (when a property sells for example). I need to symbolize by (e.g. property use or time since last sale) which are not fields in the parcel's schema, but in the related table. I "worked around" temporarily by creating a view in the database (essentially joining the table values I need to the parcels layer), which is then added to arcpro with a geometry. I symbolize the view then publish it as a hosted feature layer. The biggest issue with that is whenever changes are made (typically daily) the hosted feature layer has to be overwritten. It would be IDEAL to be able to symbolize the parcels layer by the related table and publish it as referenced registered data so the updates are automatic.

Sorry to hear that! I would recommend reaching out to Esri support for assistance with why that option is not appearing. Another route you could take is to define the symbology manually on your layer. You create a multi-layer symbol in the JavaScript SDK using the CIMSymbol class. Here's an example: https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/sample-code/cim-lines-and-polygons/

What can we do about it? I understand that the previous behavior will not be restored?

I'm not observing this behavior. If you think you're encountering a bug, you should reach out to Esri support with a repro/test case so they can vet it and log it into our system to fix it more promptly. Here's the test case I tried that appeared to work: https://codepen.io/kekenes/pen/yLQMYPx?editors=100

So support added my case to the following already logged BUG and limitation: BUG-000154352 The symbology scale range display is not retained for a feature service in a Portal for ArcGIS web map. To me this BUG title is bit misleading as it does work for a feature service in the webmap if it is added as Portal item (look for content in the Portal and then add the feature service item). It is only not supported if you had the service by URL (either FeatureServer or MapServer/id) as it does not retrieve the symbology described in the Portal item but instead directly from the ArcGIS Server. It would have been better to enlarge a bit the scope of this BUG to ArcGIS Server services (both FeatureServer service and featureLayer created from a MapServer layer) rather than restricting it to some webmap use. Anyway, thanks for having chimed in @KristianEkenes! Feel free to ping anyone from Pro/Enterprise side 🙂

Yeah, I see the issue, but it's a bit of a confusing one... It's in the where clause of the Filter function. That where statement is a SQL where, and doesn't allow Arcade functions. So this bit: "DATE_HEURE > Date(2023-05-01)" Needs to change to: "DATE_HEURE > '2023-05-01'" Then it should work... Here's an example: https://codepen.io/kekenes/pen/NWOJapJ?editors=100

Thank you, it solved my problem well. One last point that is still strange, I noticed that once the application is open in certain areas, the values change when zooming in or out. Do you have any idea on how to make the display static and not dynamic ?

@KristianEkenes Can we apply the function that allows us to browse the entities, which is present in the following example : https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/visualization/high-density-data/aggregation/ I tried, but the issue is that the number of aggregations is not consistent with what can be browsed in the POPUP. Thank you for your help.

Hey @LazyDogz :). Are you still experiencing your issue? If so, why don't you try the following: let rendererTest = {
type: "unique-value",
field: "farmType",
field2: "livestockType",
fieldDelimiter: ", ",
uniqueValueInfos: [
{
value: "1, <Null>",
label: "Pig",
symbol: {
type: "picture-marker",
url: "https://cdn-icons-png.flaticon.com/512/776/776450.png",
width: "25px",
height: "25px",
outline: {
color: [255, 255, 255],
width: 1,
},
},
},
{
value: "2, 1",
label: "Cow",

width: "25px",
height: "25px",
outline: {

width: 1,
},
},
},
{

width: 1,
},
},
},
{
value: "3, <Null>",
label: "Slaughterhouse",
symbol: {
type: "picture-marker",
url: "https://cdn-icons-png.flaticon.com/512/1995/1995607.png",
width: "25px",
height: "25px",
outline: {
color: [255, 255, 255],

},
},
},
{
value: "4, <Null>",
label: "Chicken",
symbol: {

}; The main edits are to Line 8: value: "1, <Null>", Line 50 : value: "3, <Null>", And line 64: value: "4, <Null>", Hope this helps!

Thank you for your replies! After digging deeper, I could fix my problem by using "ImageryLayers" instead of FeatureLayers. When using those, the rendering is exactly the same as on ArcGIS Pro and on the Online Map Viewer. I ended up loading both : an ImageryLayer for rendering, and a FeatureLayer with opacity=0 to benefit from dynamic data and stats. It relates quite a bit to this thread https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-javascript-maps-sdk-questions/symbol-is-rendered-differently-between/m-p/420812 Bottom line was that the layers I was seeing in ArcGIS Pro and on the Online Map Viewer were generated server-side, while the FeatureLayers loaded using the JS API were rendered in the client side, with quite a lot of limitations, leading to some symbols being simplified or simply dropped. Hope this helps someone having the same issue!

Hello, has there been any progress on this subject? Can we now display a style on a featurelayer from another layer or table, via FeatureSetByName or FeatureSetById for example? It works in popups, but doesn't seem to work in styles. Thank You.

field: "Candidate"

const values = infos.map((info) => info.value);
}); Just call Array.map() and return the value in the callback. That will create a new array with only the values.

@KristianEkenes I found the solution. let renderer = new ClassBreaksRenderer({ field: "cluster_count" }); renderer.addClassBreakInfo({ minValue: 1, maxValue: 1, symbol: { type: "picture-marker", // autocasts as new PictureMarkerSymbol() url: "https://static.arcgis.com/images/Symbols/Shapes/BlueStarLargeB.png", height: "48px", width: "48px" } });
