Thanks. Maybe I should back up and explain the project a little bit more. It is possible that I am not doing this properly. The purpose of this project is to monitor the Parks and Open Spaces conditions and also keep track of actions that are taken at these locations to address these actions. There will also be surveys for trails (line) and trailheads (points) once I work this one out. Users will be using Field Maps to select the Park or Open space. A link in the popup will link to the Survey123 surveys (posconditions and posactions in the case of the form I sent) . This information will be displayed via a Dashboard and online map. I was hoping that I could relate the tables to the polygons, lines, and points I was given by the agency I am working with so this information can be more easily displayed on the Dashboard. I know that I could do a spatial join in MapViewer Classic, but that seems to be too complicated for this task. I just read this: https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000015422 I did not follow those directions previously which is probably one of the issues I ran into originally. I think that now I need to create a group for the questions that are currently attached to the default Geopoint question. On a basic level I am trying to get the tables to relate to the feature layers I was given to work with through Survey123. Finally, when I figure this out, do I need to do something with the default Geopoint question so that points are not collected when the surveys are submitted by users in the field?

Hi @DougBrowning Thanks for the response. I am including two screen shots. First, is the hosted feature service created from Survey123: Second, is the feature service I created in Catalog and uploaded to AGOL and am trying to link the survey to: Could it be that the created points and the polygon I am trying to use have different names? I am also including the XLSForm from the original survey. I guess I could create a repeat for the first set of questions if that is easier? Thanks

Hello I am working with a point, line, and polygon file given to me by a client that they would like to use as the geographies for three different Survey123 forms that will be used to collect data related to each. I am following the advice of @DougBrowning outlined in this post: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-questions/mapping-with-survey123-within-a-polygon-or-admin/td-p/836112 I have followed all the steps but am still confused. My confusion is outlined below. When I publish one of the forms from Survey123 connect the Feature Service has a point feature layer (there is no geography question on the form so this I assume is the default) and the two related tables created from repeats in Survey123 Connect XLSForm. The default point file does inherit three of the questions from the XLSForm because I do not have those questions set up to be repeats, so they attach to the default point feature layer. When I made my .gdb in Catalog, the polygon feature that I am trying to use as my geography does not have these fields so when I try and link to the hosted feature layer and update the survey it will not allow it because it cannot find the originally created point files table. Is it advisable to create repeats for all questions and to have the polygon only have a field that will relate to the three tables (two already created plus the new one)? In the two existing repeats I have a parentglobalid field that is populated from Field Maps from the polygon's GlobalID field. Also, can I not include the default point file in the new hosted feature layer? Thanks for any clarification on this matter.

This seems like it should be an issue that is addressed. We have about 10-15 volunteers that are unable to participate in the project as a result of this error. We are having to purchase iPads that they can checkout so they can still help out.

Hello I previously created two apps for an organization that now has their own Esri AGOL account. I would like to replace the maps and feature layers that are being hosted on my AGOL account with maps and feature layers that are hosted on their account so I can fully transfer the project's data management to them. If I change the feature layer and map links in the Settings of AppStudio from the ones hosted on my account to theirs, will I need to recreate the apps and re-upload them to the App Store and Google Play. Or, will the update happen automatically? Thanks for any suggestions.

The phenomena are recreation crowding and recreation conflict. You might expect that as crowding rises so does conflict. Users were able to place points along recreation trails where they have experienced either crowding or have been involved in a conflict with another recreational user. Running kernel density of each of the point layers returns different values, so that is why I was thinking that I should standardize the values in some way. In order to standardize I would really like to know what the output values mean. Maybe I should use point density analysis instead of kernel density since that comparison is more straight forward when using points of incidents?

Hello All, I have two kernel density rasters obtained from two different point layers, representing two distinct phenomenon. I am trying to see if there is statistically significant correlation between the location and intensity of these densities between the two point layers. I have two questions. First, how should a kernel density output be interpreted? I understand that the higher values represent more dense areas. However, how am I supposed to interpret the numerical values that are present in my raster dataset? In one example my values range from 0 to 10,244.214. There are only 75 points for this density analysis so I am not sure what the 10,244 refers to since there are no cells that would have that many values within it? Second, does anyone know of a statistically valid method to compare the two density rasters to see if they are significantly different from one another? Should the data be standardized before running this analysis? I have found the Jaccardi index that have been used to compare rasters, but not sure if there is anything else out there that someone would recommend for kernel density comparisons? Thanks for any suggestions or interpretation help.

Hello All, I am having an issue with spatial filtering and I have worked on this for almost three days straight and nothing seems to work. I have four feature layers that have multiple polygon features within them. I have set up a selector widget for each of these that is hosted on the header. If I choose an individual polygon feature from the selector widget and filter the points (what I am interested in) by spatial location, the widget also returns points that are not within the polygon as can be seen below. The green polygon is Fooses Creek and only points within that polygon should be displayed. As you can see from the selector filter from the header, I am trying to filter only those points that are spatially located within the Fooses Creek study area. Each of these study areas was supplied by a different agency and I spent 1.5 days making sure that all of the edges align and that there are no overlapping pixels between the polygons within each of the feature layers as well as there not being any overlapping pixels. When I tried those feature layers, I got points filtered from adjacent polygons. When I looked on the discussion board I found an individual that buffered the polygons by -5 meters to ensure that there were gaps between them and therefore the spatial filter would not return adjoining polygon's features (points). The photo above is from this buffered map. See picture below: Can anyone provide any guidance about what else I should try? This seems like a big limitation of using a Dashboard if you cannot filter points that are completely within a polygon because all the numbers that are returned are not correct. The same goes for using a negative buffer to try and force the spatial filter to work. These areas are no longer exactly correct with the gaps. It seems like this worked fine on the old version of Dashboard, or am I wrong about that? Thank you for any suggestions. I will stop working on this for the time being and wait for an answer because as I stated above I have worked for three straight days on lining up all the edges and then creating the negative buffers.

Hello Everyone, I have a volunteer that is having an issue downloading the offline maps within Field Maps that have been set up for data collection in the field. They have uninstalled and reinstalled Field Maps multiple times and they continue to get a message that says the "Download failed" when they are trying to download the offline areas. They are able to download an offline map in Survey123 just fine. Some more details on the phone include: Samsung Galaxy S12 model SM-G973U Android Version 10 I assume whatever the latest version of Field Maps since they are directly downloading from Google Play Plenty of storage, the files are not large as you can see. Is there anything that someone sees that I might be missing here or a setting that I am not asking them to check that might be changed inadvertently? It is working on others' Android based devices without issue. What has thrown me off is that they are able to download the offline map in Survey123. Thanks for any advice.

Hello @ZacharySutherby and @DougBrowning. Instead of opening the point layer, I opened the entire feature layer in Map Viewer Classic. The points and tables were present and I performed a join to create view feature layers for each of the tables. People have collected data after performing this task and the points are updating on their associated online maps. Not sure why I did not try this originally but thank you so much for the tips.

Hello All. I have an online map that is being used for a dashboard and within Field Maps to direct work orders. The feature layers and attributes are collected using Survey123. Once the feature layer and attributes are collected, field workers use Survey123 to further monitor the sites and these tables are linked to the feature layer via a GlobalID/ParentGlobalID relationship. The tables are condition, agency action, and volunteer action. All of the survey tables are linked to the feature layers via joins and are hosted as view layers. They are subsequently refined using the filters in MapViewer. There is one question in the condition survey that asks if the site needs an action to be taken, if this is answered in the affirmative, conditional questions asking whether this action is an agency or volunteer action is asked. Right now I have online maps that contain filtered hosted feature layers with the filter set up to look for sites that are answered "Yes" for the action question and not answered "None" for whether it should be a agency or volunteer action. If these conditions are met, the sites show up on the maps and this is how work loads will be determined throughout the season. This all works fine. Field workers go to the sites and perform either an agency or volunteer action through Survey123 and then these locations are shown on the map on a hosted view layer. The issue that I am running into is how to clear these sites once they have been visited and an action has been taken. Each time that workers go out in the field they complete the condition survey. One idea I had is that when they were visiting to perform an action that they would mark "No" for the question that asks if the site needs an action. I thought that this would then be the newest record for the feature layer and therefore would replace, on the map at least, the point showing up as needing an action since the newest table would not be answered "Yes". Unfortunately that does not seem to the case. Right now, what I have done as a work around, is to have the actions taken layer on top of the actions needed layer, but that seems too clunky and surely there is a better way to do it. Is there a way to only have the feature layer be represented by the most recent condition survey submitted? Maybe this is something that I need to do in the joined view layer? Thanks for any and all recommendations. Garrett

Hello, I have a hosted feature layer (points) and three related tables that are currently being created (points) or added to (tables) by a host of field workers using Survey123. Two of the three surveys will only relate to some of the points within the hosted feature layer, but this will change as the field season goes on. I am creating three new hosted feature layers that joins the points with each of the related tables. If I choose "Keep all target features" when I am performing the join in Map Viewer Classic I will have a host of features that do not have records. For example, there are currently 2,809 point locations that have been created and one of the survey tables is included in Survey123 for this initial data collection. However, for the other two surveys there are currently 70 and 203 related tables collected. Again, this will change as the season goes on, but I worry if I do not click on "Keep all target features" that when table 71 or 204 are collected that it will not carry the point with it to the new hosted feature layer. Is this correct, and if so, should I create a second hosted feature layer from the join layer to filter out those points that have records from the two surveys attached to them? Thanks for any guidance.

Hello I have a group of three surveys linked to one hosted feature layer (point) via the GlobalID of the feature layers and ParentGlobalID captured via Field Maps when users click on the points in the field. This was all set up using one large survey with repeats. I am trying to create some online maps with the data for each of the surveys linked to the points to be used in a data dashboard and web application. When I open the feature layer in Map Viewer I can see which points have associated tables based on the three surveys as below. Note, I have opened in Map Viewer Classic because I thought that I might need to join the tables to the feature layer. If I click on Show I get the following error: But, if I look on the Survey123 website, I can see that the records are there and everything seems to be playing nice together: But then I notice if I try and open the data in Map Viewer from the Survey123 website, nothing shows up: I tried to open it in new Map Viewer and get a weird warning message: Does anyone have any idea what is happening here? Again, I am trying to create a web map for each of the three surveys (tables) with the appropriate points that will be used in a dashboard and web mapping application that will need to update whenever a new point or record is collected. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello All. I am working on a project that contains one hosted feature layer (points) and three linked tables (surveys) via the hosted feature layer's GlobalID field. Users can either collect a new feature (Survey123) or add the surveys to already existing features (Field Maps). The three surveys relate to the feature layer's conditions and actions that can be taken by volunteers or agencies. In the condition survey there is a question that asks if the site has actions that need to be taken by agencies (this question is a list of actions agencies can take) and there is also a questions that asks if the sites has actions that need to be taken by volunteers (this question is a list of actions volunteers can take). I would like to display, on a dashboard or a web application, the sites that need agency and volunteer actions which I think that I can do via a hosted view layer using the aforementioned questions above as the filter. This will be used by work crew coordinators to direct workflow. I am using Field Maps with the feature layer as points that users will be using in the field. Users can click on the points and the Survey123 surveys are linked via links in the popup window to add the tables to the layer. I am trying to design a workflow that will allow both the agency and volunteer coordinators to see all of the sites that their workers need to take actions at. As stated above, this part seems to be easy by simply creating a view layer and hosting that on a dashboard or web application map. Where I am confused is how can I ensure that these features are cleared from the dashboard or web application map if an action is indeed taken so that they are not visited twice? Can I set an additional filter by date so only the most recent survey affiliated with the feature layer is displayed? Would it be better to set up a view layer for sites that need actions to be taken and then create Field Map offline maps for them? This is really a long question so please let me know if you need any clarification.
