To highlight a feature on the map map you can pick Custom Configuration for your pop-up display settings. Choosing this will then let you pick a feature on the map to display when readers navigate to that section.

Hi -- Do you have your 3D data published to the web yet? If not, you should start over in the 3D Cities / Campuses or 3D Mapping places to learn how to create models and publish them to the web using ArcGIS Pro, CityEngine, and ArcGIS Online. Once you have your 3D scenes created then you can add them to your story map as described in the blog article I linked to above.

Hello -- Yes! You can use 3D web scenes in your story maps. Here's an article that describes how to do this in different story map builders: Using 3D web scenes in Story Maps And here are some examples of story maps that feature 3D: https://story.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=4c77a56bbcd743b69232cf3fd9c7a61c http://tpl.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=203d6527c9664917974931952449d8c1 https://fws.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=a0bc95ff336541aa8e0893ed7e0c7888 The Uprooted

Thanks for the extra info Bryan, I'll make a note of those use cases in our feedback system. In terms of superscripts, it's fairly easy to workaround not having superscript text for the situations you mentioned. You can use something like (1) for citation notes and there are several other common abbreviations for square feet like SF or sq. ft. that can be used.

Bryan -- Could you please let me know how you'd like to use super/subscript text formatting? It would be helpful if you could share a little more on how you'd like to adjust the font size (up/down?) and why. If you could share some additional information that would help us understand how you're using the Cascade Builder and the reasons behind your requests. Thanks!

Hi Bryan -- Sorry that Cascade doesn't yet provide all the customization options you are looking for. We have intentionally kept options minimal to keep the authoring experience simple, but we realize some authors want more and we're monitoring feedback we receive. We haven't had many requests specifically for super/subscript formatting, but we'll consider that for a future update. As far as the font size, there are a few font options to choose from in Settings > Appearance that have somewhat different sizes (Noto Serif is a bit larger than the other options), although I realize this is not the level of control you are looking for. Cascade is an open source app, so this means you can download the source code, modify it to make the customizations you want (such as changing the font size throughout), and host your version of the app. This would require some basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, but here's an article that describes that process if you are interested.

Hi Bryan -- Sorry you are running into issues; however, I think the solution is simple. Just remove some text from your very long subtitle, adjust the appearance, then add the text back. The cover media settings aren't something you need to change often, so I think that should be an easy workaround that you shouldn't have to use more than once or twice. Since you're just starting out I'd recommend taking a look at our gallery where we share lots of examples of great Cascade stories so you can get an idea of what makes a great story. For example from a readability perspective, I wouldn't recommend having a 7-line subtitle. 😕

Hi Jess -- Sorry you are having trouble getting your time animation to play in your Cascade story. Can you provide some more information to help us troubleshoot: Is the animation a video, an app, or some custom web page (if you can share a link to it here, that would be most helpful)? Can you also share a screenshot of the animation in your story so we can see how you are trying to add it?

Hi Shawn -- I don't recall when it was added, but yes this is currently available. When a photo is added, the location for the contribution gets placed on the map according to the geotag. If this is not working in your story, is there a chance that you have downloaded the code and are self-hosting the app? In that case you may be using an older version where this feature is not available. Please be aware that Story Map Crowdsource has been moved to mature support. Read this blog post for more information.

Hi Stephen -- The large infographic-style numbers in that story are images created in a graphics program and then uploaded into the story. There's currently no way to adjust the text size beyond changing to heading style from the paragraph formatting menu.

Paige -- You can create a new story from the Crowdsource item page. The link is in this blog. You'll need to be signed in to see the Create a Web App button on the item page. Your browser may not pick up that you are signed in when you visit the link, so try signing in and then search for the item using "story map crowdsource owner:esri_en" as your query.

Hi -- We're glad your project using Story Map Crowdsource was successful. We understand there were people that used this app and found it valuable, but given our limited development resources we were unfortunately no longer able to maintain Story Map Crowdsource as a stand-alone app. We do plan to bring crowdsourcing back into our story map offerings, but since this app did not get anywhere close to the usage of our other storytelling apps it is not our top priority at the moment nor have we set a timeline for when we would work on this. There is a possibility that future browser updates will introduce issues with creating or viewing Crowdsource stories. We believe the chances of this are low and the app should continue to work as it does today for several years, but of course this is impossible to predict. You could re-evaluate the app next summer to see if it is still working well at that time.

You can override the line spacing in Journal by adding some CSS to the source view (see here for help on how to do this). The line spacing of Journal's home (1st) section is different that the rest of the sections. Below is some CSS that targets some display attributes of the home section text; just remove .section:first-child if you want CSS that applies to sections other than the home section. For side panel layout .sidePanel .section:first-child {
margin-top: -8px;
margin-bottom: 20px;
}
.sidePanel .section:first-child .title {
font-size: 2.3em; /* usually 1.5em */
padding: 10px 0; /* usually 0? */
line-height: 1.3em; /* usually 1.5em */
font-weight: normal;
}
.sidePanel .section:first-child .content {
font-size: 20px; /* usually 16px */
min-height: 150px;
} For floating panel layout .floatingPanel .section:first-child .title {
margin-top: 25%;
margin-bottom: calc(10% - 30px);
font-size: 2.3em; /* usually 1.85em */
line-height: 1.3em; /* usually 1.5em */
}
.floatingPanel .section:first-child .content {
font-size: 20px; /* usually 16px */
