A few questions about using Viewshed and geodesic viewshed with line as input (not point). Is it really translated to a set of point or it works directly on line? If it does translate what is the distance between points? Does it take into account the vertexes of the line? Does it take into account the Z value of the vertexes? Thanks

Hi Just write in the empty line below Data reviewer "Image analyst" and give your EFL number. The Feature column is not important, it should understand by the EFL registration number you give. Have fun

Hi Thanks for all the info, it does help. My problem is that I do not see anywhere any reference to ArcGIS Server with GP service. As far as I understand the papers when they say server they mean using Pro in RDP or some other remote software. I would like to know if anybody out there have a GP service that uses one of the GPU enables geoprocessing commands and uses GPU on the server. Graphic card for server is not cheap, we would like to use other people experience.

Hi All We would like to publish GP service that uses Geodesic Viewshad This should work much better when you have GPU on the server. We read this: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/spatial-analyst/gpu-processing-with-spatial-analyst.htm and it gives a lot of info. We would like to know if anybody out there is using graphic card on server and what is the model of this card. This service: https://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/Elevation/ESRI_Elevation_World/GPServer/Viewshed looks like it uses GPU too (works very quickly). Anybody know is it using GPU and what is the model? Thanks

If you want ESRI to set the classes for you using some good algorithms you can try Slice https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/spatial-analyst/slice.htm

Hi Jay I found the problem thanks to your advice. The Explore network tool show me that I digitize the turn in the wrong direction. It was blocking the route from 2 to 1 but not the other way around. I fliped the turn feature, rebuild the network and it is now working as needed. Thanks

I am trying to make a route that will not go on some turns. In the screen shot you can see my very simple network with one restricted turn. I would like the route to go the long way (north from point 1). In my second screen shot you can see my network properties with the turns restrictions. I turn on "My restrictions" in my route layer. The route is still the short way (using the restricted turn). Changing some properties gave me "No solution" too but I could not make it go the long way. What am I doing wrong here?

import <license level> does not work at all for arcpy 3.x The only way to control license level for stand alone script is to run it under a user that have the needed license setting

Unlike ArcMap the Pro license is by user and not by machine. If you set user A to basic and user B to standard and you run your stand alone python under user B it should work. If you run your script inside Pro (as GP tool or in python window) it will use Pro license but this is just like ArcMap. Have fun

Hi All I am trying to use Geodesic Viewshed GP Tool. I am working on a mosaic that have a world DTM. When the mosaic is in the TOC and I use it in the tool it takes less then 3 seconds and give message that no GPU is used. When I give the full path (network drive) it takes about 45 seconds (same parameters). I am going to publish it as a gp service and would like to keep the 3 seconds but there is no way to put layer on TOC for gp service. Any idea? Maybe it is the temporary files? is there any way to set this? Thanks

It finally worked for me. There are two things to look for. When you build the cache in the ready to use schemas list you have options for elevation schema, you should select one by the spatial reference of the DTM. The spatial reference of your dtm should be the same as you base map (or esri basemap if you use on-line). Then publish the elevation layer should be done by putting the dtm as elevation layer in Pro scene and then publish it by right mouse click. I had a problem building large cache (for the entire world) but it worked fine for smaller areas. Have fun

Just did some more testing. The "workspace" line fail even if I run it using a bat file or replace subprocess.popen with os.system. As I say it runs from all options, direct from IDLE or from pro python window but not when I define it as a tool. And the strangest thing - the line arcpy.env.overwriteOutput = True does work. I did not tried other env's but it looks only the workspace have a problem.

I have script a.py that have one line: arcpy.env.workspace = r"C:\temp" I am running this script with the line: proc = subprocess.Popen([r"C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin\Python\envs\arcgispro-py3\python.exe", r"D:\temp\a.py"]) When I run it from the python window in Pro 3.1 it runs with no error. When I create script b.py that have only this line and make a tool out of it I get the error the GPEnvironment have no method workspace This works good in Pro 2.X Thanks Mody

Hello all We are trying to publish a 3D layer. In Pro we have a scene with 3D layer (layer that is displayed by his Z values). In Pro we can right click on the layer and publish it as web layer. The data is in enterprise geodatabase that is register in the server. The result are 3 items: Map Image, Feature layer and Scene layer. The scene layer is marked as hosted but it really looks on the real data. Now we try to do the same operation in arcpy. We tried first the first example in Upload Service definition just to create simple map image but got the 9999 error. Is it possible to do it in python and how? Thanks
