Has anyone had any luck getting LocalLayer widget to work in any version higher than 2.5? I see the latest version of the locallayer widget is v2.5 and wondering if that version is intended to match the WAB version? When following the steps on WAB 2.8 I cannot get it to load from the default. However, loading the widget to an app that was already created in (WAB 2.8) i am able to get the widget to load and also connect to rest services correctly. The problem is that now the data loads but it hoses all the other widgets and WAB. I was just wondering if anyone has ran across this or knows of any plans/workaround to use in a later version of Web Appbuilder.

Well I didn't, but our GIS Developer figured it out. Here is the code he added that we use on every WAB project at the bottom of the config.json file. "wabVersion": "2.4", "isTemplateApp": true, "isWebTier": false, "httpProxyFile": { "useProxyFile": true, "alwaysUseProxyFile": false, "url": "https://insertdomainname.com/ProxyFileDirectory/ProxyFile.ashx", "rules": [ { "urlPrefix": "https://insertdomainname.com/webadaptorname6", "ProxyFileUrl": "https://insertdomainname.com/ProxyFileDirectory/ProxyFile.ashx" }, { "urlPrefix": "https://insertdomainname.com/webadaptorname7", "ProxyFileUrl": "https://insertdomainname.com/ProxyFileDirectory/ProxyFile.ashx" }, { "urlPrefix": "https://insertdomainname.com/webadaptorname8", "ProxyFileUrl": "https://insertdomainname.com/ProxyFileDirectory/ProxyFile.ashx" }, { "urlPrefix": "https://insertdomainname.com/webadaptorname5", "ProxyFileUrl": "https://insertdomainname.com/ProxyFileDirectory/ProxyFile.ashx" }, { "urlPrefix": "https://services2.arcgis.com", "ProxyFileUrl": "https://insertdomainname.com/ProxyFileDirectory/ProxyFile.ashx" }, { "urlPrefix": "https://internalserver/portal", "ProxyFileUrl": "https://insertdomainname.com/ProxyFileDirectory/ProxyFile.ashx" }, { "urlPrefix": "https://insertdomainname.com/portal", "ProxyFileUrl": "https://insertdomainname.com/ProxyFileDirectory/ProxyFile.ashx" } ] As you can see we have many webadaptors and use 10 ArcGIS servers. He also added the internal and external name of the Portal. Once this was added and supplied credentials in the proxy.ashx file, we stopped getting requests for authentication. I hope this helps! I can send you a link to setting up a proxy file as that will be needed as well.

No I haven't tried AGOL. We have our own servers and are actually running 8 ArcGIS servers paired. So the infrastructure looks like 4 AGS's because there is a shared configuration on a disk array for redundancy purposes. Yes we are constantly adding and removing project files in the mxd. After we do this all the layers are jacked up. We have to let WAB reload the service to pull the changes from the published service then copy the configs over. Not a huge deal, but is taxing when you have about 250services and about 15 people touching them. Granted there are only 2 of us that can access the server and make these changes. I was just hoping for a fix or a better solution then the current workflow.

Hi Barnaby, Did you ever get any resolve to this? We are having similar issues. Few web pages with tons of layers that are being added and removed thus breaking the TOC or visible layers list. The only way we have found to fix this is to reload the layer into the locallayer widget in WAB and save it. From there we copy the widget configs into the live site. Or we just go and modify the bottom of the "config_local_layer_widget.json" file where it says "hidelayers" and add the rest service id of those layers or groups. This becomes tedious as we do multiple updates daily. I was hoping you found a way for the dynamic service to be read instead of the config file from the original deployment. Like you said, everything is published correctly in the mxd and service but not in the web viewer. Please let me know if you ever found a better solution! Thanks, Kade

Hi Kevin, I was meaning when i republish and add new layers the pop-ups for those layers aren't configured. So the new layers don't have pop-ups enabled when the older ones do (from initial deployment in WAB). The end users ask, why can I click on these layers and get info but not these other ones? So I'm thinking about removing it all together and having them enable each layer as they need it. We are constantly adding/updating layers so this will be a big problem for me. Unfortunately I am not using AGOL so that will not help me. We have a 12 VM ArcGIS server infrastructure and only loaded portal to get WAB to work. All services being used are being used directly from our own AGS's using the locallayer widget. I am looking into this: https://community.esri.com/thread/159817 The coding is outside my realm of knowledge but I have passed it along to our developer to see if this is an option for our current workflow. Thanks for the quick response! Let me know if you have any ideas/suggestions. Kade

Hi Robert/Tim, Did anyone get this figured out? I would also like to set all layers to pop up by default. We are constantly removing and adding layers and republishing. It would be awesome if all layers had this ability by default instead of revisting WAB 2-3x a week. Kade

After Deploying a Web App from WAB on our own ArcGIS Servers we get intermittent portal login pages. Has anyone seen this? Our proxy authenticates fine and most times you never see the portal login page. When you do see the portal login, i can click the back button and it takes me directly to the web app without a login. Our internal portal page is causing a lot of problems by randomly requesting a login. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Ravin, Did you ever get this figured out? Since you are using https it is requesting a user that has permissions to that location. We have the same setup on our network using a proxy server. In WAB when accessing secured services via https it prompts us for a user name and password to access our "secured" rest services. We were able to add the path (in your screenshot) of the location with the user and password in a proxy file. From there we host the proxy file in iis and reference it in the root directory of the application created "config.json". Message me if you need any further help. Surely someone has helped you since 5/2016. Kade

Robert, Thank you for your help. I had a wierd error and i'm not sure why it effected the editor. I had 2 versions of WAB and the old original version worked. I compared the folder structures and notice 1 file missing in the new location. When extracting WAB, this file was 1 character over the "limit" and did not extract. Once i created a share to that location and then recopied the file, everything seemed to fix itself. Thank you again for your help, you were very fast with your responses. Kade

Robert, So we made a little headway. Once I removed the identify widget (2.1), then everything begins to work. Strange, because something in the identify widget is causing the attribute table to fail in Chrome/Firefox. That's unfortunate because we really like the identify functionality. I verified all excluded services are mapped correctly via https. Any ideas? Thanks, Kade (Garrett)

Do you think I should try using an older version of the attribute widget? Right now i am using the latest 2.1. I'm sure that's not a best practice, but i will try anything. I even loaded WAB on my desktop to see if something was wrong with the configuration on the server. Published a new page from my desktop and had the same exact errors.

Hi Robert, Thank you for the quick response. Our developer and I are looking into this. Weird this is only happening in Chrome and Firefox. The manifest.json file is in the directory as it should be. I even renamed the original and copied out a fresh version of the file with the same issue. We are going to keep searching to make sure nothing is pointing to internal resources. Thanks, Kade McBride

I was hoping someone could help me with a problem in Web Appbuilder. We are using the latest version of WAB (downloaded yesterday). We have forced SSL and everything seems to be working properly (attached). We also have a proxy that we have been using for the past 7 years and everything works great. When loading a web map on IE everything works great, loads fast, attribute table works. When loading the same page on Chrome or Firefox it hangs for about a minute and a half before removing the attribute widget. Once it removes the attribute table it loads immediately in both browsers. I deployed a test page without the attribute table and as expected the page loads securely and super fast. I am trying to figure out what is causing the attribute widget to give Chrome and firefox an SSL Protocol error. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please if anyone has any helpful insight to how to get bing to work please email me. I can't find any real documentation to get this to work. Everything I have tried has been trial & error with no luck . The maps do not appear but i still get an x/y coordinate and can still search and locate cities with correct coordinates. I have to be close. I commented out the ESRI basemaps and then uncommented out the Bing. I then exported out a vetoken.ashx and put it in my IIS configured with user name and password that i got via ArcSOM. When you go directly to the vetoken (http://domain/vetoken.ashx) it gives a token (ex {"token":"mqc8vRfhMmisbouPhkvibwB6Etl_feVl9J5ET15qsjKzHQ3qqv4PVk4JqNLYq0bx2WgE2XXNnaKX-a8UljHp6w2"} ) which makes me think i am leaving out something small. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Garrett McBride Please post to help others and I can also be contacted: Email: garrett.mcbride@mustangeng.com
