Ok . Good to know. I think I know what the table in n my database is that is a problem but can I check and see what the offending table is? and I'm guessing the only way to make sure this doesn't happen in the future is to migrate to a sql server or PostgresSQL

Hmmm...most of the versions are edits versions of QA but there is one version that is an edit version of DEFAULT. I will see if i can reconcile and post that version, delete it and see whats up. Thanks for the feedback

So i got this error when reconciling against my DEFAULT state of my database. After some research i came across a few blogs that pointed me to A) look at the hard drive and make sure i have room (i do) and then B) check my database properties and make sure that my primary filegroup max size was big enough (it was set to unlimited and the auto growth was turned on and set to grow by 10 percent. just to be safe i upped to 100 percent). So since those dont seem to be the cause of the problem...anyone have any ideas? i am using a enterprise geodatabse on a SQL express 2014 server instance.

So i have been going through and reconciling and posting versions and trying to clean them up. As i have been doing this noticed that a lot (well all my versions) say the "Blocking Is: True" and i cant figure out why but i do know its interfering with my ability to reconcile and post back to DEFAULT I looked through my notes from the classes i took and also for documentation online but can really find anything. Can anyone help point me the right direction to better understand what causing my versions to be blocking and what i can do to fix it? Thanks

I just finished authorizing my sever licence and went on to update the ArcSDE enterprise geodatabase license, when i try to upload the ECP file that was generated i get the warning that it is an "Invalid authorization file". Here are the steps i followed log on to the machine running AGS Use the Software Authorization tool to authorize my sever using the provsioning file (prvc) Navigate to the ESRI\License10.4\sysgen folder copy and rename the keycodes file with the ECP extension copy the ECP file to my desktop connect to the database using my established admin connection upload the ECP and get the "Invalid authorization file" i even tried restarting my server. and here is what is authorized by my prvc file arcsdeserver svrenterprise arcgisserver schematicssvr capacitysvr_4 svradvanced 3dserver spatialserver networkserver imageextserver interopserver jtxserver geostatserver highwayssvr datareviewersvr geoeventsvr portal_50 any thoughts? edit one: When i log on to ArcGIS Sever Manger and check the ArcGIS Software Authorization tab it show the software as not being updated despite being told that it was successful

Something nefarious but im still not sure what. I do know it was related to a child version. I believe it that was generated when a map was taken off line for use in Collector. I do know when i went and deleted those versions everything was working fine. So best guess is a version that was created by taking a map offline was preventing stuff from reconciling and posting so i would check and see if you have any versions like that.

Hi George that's good to know, but once i cancel it what can i do? If it is taking this long to reconcile, wont it take as long as next time? Also this is not happening in an edit session but through Geodatabase Administration in ArcCatalog

So i think i made a mistake and went to long with reconciling my QA version with its parent DEFAULT version. I say this because I started the reconcile process on a friday afternoon and its now Monday and it is still going on, luckily no errors. This reconcile is taking place outside of an edit session and is being handled in ArcCatalog via Administer Geodatabase So my question is what do i do? Do i just let it keep running till it finishes and learn my lesson. Or is there something else i can do? Thanks

So i am playing around with using Collector for inspections of stormwater drain inlets. Due lack of 3G/4G capability on our ipads we have to relay on the WiFi signal, which in certain areas will drop out on you, meaning you can not update any features so to get around this we have been working in offline mode. So far this has been fine however one of the staff had a request that there be a way to see which inlets have been inspected. I first tried using, "Unique values, many fields" to symbolize based on the storm inlet type and inspected (y/n) fields but that dosent work. So next i tried using multiple layers, one for each storm inlet type but then i ran in to the "multiple layers are referencing..." error when i tried to take it offline. so then i tried using a definition query to hide storm inlets that been inspected and this works in the fact that i can get it offline but when they change the field to inspected (y/n) to a "Yes" it doesnt update on the map. Since it seems the only way i am going to get this to work is using a def query to hide inspected features how can i set it up correctly? I have tried publishing a feature service with the def query on the layer and setting the def query in the map in AGOL but neither seem to work/ Any advice?
