I am working on a similar project. I have more research to do regarding the near tool, but wondering if it may be possible to use a combination of the near tool and an attribute query to ensure that the correct pole is selected based on a similar field (Pole Type/Pole Material). In my example, I have 1 street light and 3 poles in close proximity. I want to ensure that the attributes from the street light feature class with a Material Type field of Wood are transferred to the pole with the Pole Type of Wood Post.

Is this possible by selecting a subset of the data range and pointing that to each feature layer? I have been able to associated both a point and polygon feature layer on AGOL with my excel sheet but I think I'm still seeing map errors because it doesn't understand that I want to display a point or polygon for each record, not try to match every record with both the point and polygon feature layers. Would love to be directed to a blog post or content on the esri learn site for this topic if that exists!

I'm just getting back into using ArcGIS for Office. Wondering if it is possible to store point, line and polygon information in 1 excel sheet. I am working with a sheet of assets that display as coloured polygons on a map in excel based on a status field (active, surplus etc.). There are errors in my map because not all of the assets are stored as polygons. Is there a way to indicate in the excel sheet when a row should be associated with a point layer vs a polygon layer? For example, I want to display vacant land as polygons and washrooms as points (we may manage the washroom but do not own the land they are on) .

It will be inside of a folder named something like Survey - TheNameOfYourSurvey. Your best bet is to find a YouTube videos or esri learning resources about Survey123 & ArcGIS Online as this is quite basic information.

You have to access the feature layer that is created from your survey from the content page in arcgisonline.com. Not from the survey 123 website.

click on the feature layer in ArcGIS Online. By default, you will see the Overview page. You can find the Export Data information at the bottom of the Settings page.

The buffer construction tool in the modify pane in ArcGIS Pro does have a lot of the same functionality. The highlighted text at the top indicates which feature will be buffered, and the feature class listed under Template is the feature class that will receive the buffered area.

Wondering why the merge tool does not seem to be functioning properly in ArcGIS Pro 2.8.3. I created a model a few months ago that merges 5 polygon feature classes and then runs a series of GP tools to add and calculate new fields. The inputs to my model have changed so I map 9 new fields. When I run my model it fails at the next GP tool, stating that one of my new fields does not exist. I decided to run the merge tool outside of my model after many failed attempts to rectify the issue. Now even when I run the merge tool outside of the model it does not honor my new fields. I would like to see the POINTS, SCORE and VALUE/TOTAL fields from each of the 5 input polygons but the output only contains these fields from my address/density polygon.

I am currently experiencing the same thing. I started creating a set of models a few months ago. Some of the input data has changed so I've had to re-map fields in my Merge tool. I add and map 9 new fields, click ok to accept the changes and run my model. The GP tool following the Merge tool fails and says that a field does not exist within the table (ERROR 000728). When I open the merge tool in the model again the 9 fields that I mapped are no longer there.

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if it is possible to join/merge line segments based on a common ID field and calculate the average of one of the other fields using the line segment length. For example, in the following graphic I want to join the line segments that fall within the polygon outlined in turquois. The yellow segment is 100m long and has a value of 50% and the orange segment is 200m long and has a value of 20%. What sort of workflow could I used to calculate the new value?

I think I'm getting close here. I have an expression that counts the number of points in a polygon BUT it currently displays as a list. Can someone let me know which expression I can use to Sum/Count the number of intersections so that my expression reads: "Existing: 14", rather than "Existing: 1 1 1 1 1 1.. "? var container = FeatureSetByName($datastore, "Buffer_of_Site_Address_Points_500m", ["BufferDist"], True);
var STA = Sum(Count(Intersects(container, Geometry($feature))));
return STA

Wondering if it is possible to use this expression (or something similar) to display dynamic text in a map layout. I would like to display a count of points within a polygon in the map display. This is what I have so far but keep getting a table not found error: var Licence =
Distinct($feature["xxx.LicenceID"])
var Buff = FeatureSetByName($datastore, "Buffer_of_Site_Address_Points_500m",["BuferDist"], True)
var countSTA = Count(Intersects(Buff,Licence))
return countSTA
