With some help from Esri Support, I figured out how to delete the symbology of a layer that has been saved in the new map viewer and restore it to work in the classic map viewer. Sign in to ArcGIS Online Assistant at: https://ago-assistant.esri.com Search for the feature layer and select "I want to.." >View an Item's Json Click on the edit icon (Pencil) and remove "ArcGIS API for JavaScript" line under type keyword 4. Edit the Data JSON object to be "{}". After you do that, then, when you view the layer in the classic map viewer, or an app using ArcGIS Javascript API, then the symbology saved on the layer will appear.

Ah-ha! I found where the symbology is being saved. I watched the network traffic for the visualization tab and I see it is getting the symbology from here: https://utilisync.maps.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/53b464e360eb4960b0b466b06e852844/data?f=json Now, the big question for me is: How can delete that symbology and have it go back to using the drawing info renderer saved here: https://services6.arcgis.com/ExtdhXSbhHKK7FFW/arcgis/rest/services/renderer_test_layer/FeatureServer/0

I saved a layer using the new map viewer in ArcGIS Online, and now the feature layer renderer isn't getting updated. Watch this to see the issue. I have 2 questions: Where is the layer renderer information getting saved if not in the feature layer (I'm mostly just curious about this)? How can I take a layer that has been saved using the new map viewer and save the symbology back to the layer (this is critical for me)? Here is the test layer I created in the video above. Here is the codepen showing they layer loaded uses the layer renderer, not what is saved in the new map viewer. Thanks!

@JoelBennett Ah, that makes sense now. The Sublayer.renderer doesn't contain the renderer information for the layer, but rather, the overriding renderer. I'm going to use /legend endpoint. For me, that is even better than having the renderer. I just need the image to show in my legend. That will be perfect. Thanks a million! Matt

I am building a custom legend and I need to get the renderers for MapImageLayer sublayers. I see renderer under layer.allSublayers._items[1].renderer, but for some reason it is null. See the console for this codepen to see what I mean. So how can I get the renderer for each sublayer show I can show the correct symbol in my legend?

@Katie_Clark , Thanks! That did the trick! I found the article a bit confusing, so here are the steps I took, in case it is helpful for anyone else: Go to: Organization Page Status Tab Credits Tab "Storage" under "Credit Utilization Chart" "Feature Storage" "Standard Feature Data Storage" View Item Details Thanks again for the help!

Thanks @Raul_Jimenez! I didn't realize there was that information on the ArcGIS Online page. Here's where I went: Organization Page Status Tab Credits Tab "Storage" under "Credit Utilization Chart" "Feature Storage" "Standard Feature Data Storage" View Item Details When I clicked on that, I saw in the network traffic that it calls this endpoint: https://[root]/portals/[portalID]?f=json&num=50&start=1&sortField=size&sortOrder=desc&types=Feature%20Service&reservedTypeKeyword=Hosted%20Service&token=[token] See here for the details for that endpoint: https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/users-groups-and-items/portal.htm That's what I needed! Thanks!

Hi All! I'm burning through my ArcGIS Online credits. All the credits are being used for storage. I know I have a bunch of old files taking up space. There is no way (that I can see) to sort items by file size on ArcGIS Online. How can I use the REST API to get a list of my ArcGIS Online items by file size? Thanks!

@JoelBennett , I can't seem to get sketchViewModel working. I do something like this: const updateOptions = { tool: "move" }; const newGraphic = graphic.clone(); graphic.visible = false; await sketchViewModel.update([newGraphic], updateOptions); graphic.geometry = this.view.toMap(e); But I keep getting this error: SketchViewModel.js:51 Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: h.remove is not a function at f.n._setupUpdateOperation (SketchViewModel.js:51:462) at f.n.update (SketchViewModel.js:18:246) Any thoughts/help on what I'm doing wrong?

How do I redraw a graphicLayer in 4.x? In 3.x, there was this great redraw method. I'm custom editing a feature's attributes. I want to redraw the layer after I have made the update so the symbol updates. If I zoom in/out then the feature updates. I want to do it without waiting for the user to zoom.

@JoelBennett This looks like just what I need. It is a bit convoluted (coping graphics to other layer and back again), but if it works, that's OK. I will give it a go and report back here on my results. Thanks!

Hi @BlakeTerhune , Thanks for the response, and thanks for pointing me back to the Editor widget demo! I saw it before, but I couldn't see how to move features. Now I see... you have to click Select under Edit Features. Once I do that, and select a feature, then it does exactly what I want. If I go with that solution, I'm still stuck with using the Editor widget, which doesn't really fit into my flow. Is there a way I can use that tool, but hide the widget and pass in the feature before I start it? Thanks, Matt

Hi, I'm building a very custom application with 4.x and I'm struggling with duplicating functionality that I have in my current 3.x application. Here's what I want to be able to do: Select a feature Enable "move mode" where I can move just that one feature Save changes Watch this short screencast to see what I mean. In 3.x that was super easy to do using the edit toolbar, like this: editToolbar = new Edit(map);
//Once the feature is selected
editToolbar.activate(Edit.MOVE | Edit.SCALE | Edit.EDIT_VERTICES, feature); How can I do the same thing in 4.x? Thanks! Matt
