Hi, I would like to modify some fields mobilecache.db from a legacy application that could then be connected to Arcgis Mobile. My problem is that there is a checksum inside each record of sqlite database. Is it a standard checksum that I could recalculate ? Which formula ? Thanks a lot, Olivier

Hi, Are you in debug or release mode ? In my case, I was in debug and I copied dll to \fgdb\bin\debug. (fgdb is my VS 2010 project name) Olivier

Hi Mathew, Thanks, I hoped it could solve this problem of querying joined fields which works with SearchCursor but not with UpdateCursor... Never mind ! Olivier

Hi, With 10.0, I thought it was possible to use directly field names instead of getvalue/setvalue to get fields values. Problem comes with joined layer : I use rows=searchCursor("joined layer") and try for row in rows... If I use the field name only (row.field_name), it's unknown, and if I use row.table_name.field_name, I get the error field "table_name" is unknown. I tried to set arcpy.env.qualifiedFieldNames either to True of False, but nothing worked out. Perhaps I need to set other delimiters ? Thanks for any help Olivier

Hi Mark, Thanks for the trick. My problem is that I would need many text elements as the objective is to place several attributes describing cables along each of them. Those cables come from a selection done thru a Python script after user selection, each selection generates a new resulting layer. Of course, I could use labels, which are suited for that, but I have to do some treatments to build the labels and the label/expression is rather complicated. As I'm creating the cables's layers dynamically, I searched if I were able to load the lxp file from my Python script but it doesn't seem possible either (here is my other post). So I'm a bit stuck, not being able to place my own labels, not being able to load lxp expression... Olivier

Hi, I want to add labels with expression including 2 or 3 functions to define them. So I would like to be able to load an lxp file using arcpy and Python script. I didn't find this function and according to this url I'm note sure it will be possible even with 10.1 (which I don't know availability). Thanks for all answers, Olivier

Thanks Matthew, your answer helped me to investigate, it worked with other mxd. So I did a reboot and finally it's ok. A bit strange but as I did many Python tests on this machine and this mxd during the previous day, perhaps something gone wrong. Olivier

Hi, I try to list all layers from an mxd. Can someone explain me why it works when launched from toolbox and not from an Idle python script ? mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument(r"...\my.mxd") for df in arcpy.mapping.ListDataFrames(mxd,"*"): for lyr in arcpy.mapping.ListLayers(mxd,"*",df): print df.name + ":" + lyr.name When launched with a tool inside Arcmap 10.0, I get all layers, but from python 2.6 script, it just displays the first layer and stops (Layers:<first layer name>). Thanks for any help Olivier

Hi, So I translated from C# to VB, that's ok. As I have a running program that is connected with different databases (not only geo...), I wanted to know if it will be possible to connect to a FGDB with ODBC ? I saw that the question has been asked several times, and saw only one answer that said that it was possible to build one with the API, which I'm not able to evaluate complexity level. Thanks Olivier
