Hello James Tedrick, Have there been any updates on this issue? Or maybe other suggestions I could try? It continues to plague us. Thanks! Lynn

Hello, I'm attempting to create a unique timestamp-based SAMPLEID for each sample in a repeat. At least, one that doesn't change every time the survey is re-opened. In our workflow, we collect samples on one day and save the survey as a Draft. The survey is then reopened the following day and additional fields in the repeat are populated. Here's the calculation: SAMPLEID : concat('BA ', format-date(once(now()), '%Y%m%d %H%M%S%3')) I also tried putting the once(now()) function in a separate question and then referring to it in a calculation: SAMPSTART: format-date(once(now()), '%Y%m%d %H%M%S%3') SAMPLEID: concat('BA ', ${sampstart}) Either way, when I reopen the survey, the SAMPLEID re-calculates to "now". We are saving the survey as a draft, then reopening the next day. We are not using Inbox. Help!! Thanks, Lynn

Hi Elliot, This is so cool!! I added the button code to the popup in my webmap and it worked like a charm. Well, at least for one survey. The button worked for my Field Parameters survey perfectly...it launches the survey in Survey123 (desktop) and populates the SITEID field. Seriously, so cool!! But for my Macros survey, the button launches the survey but doesn't populate SITEID. Not sure if this is helpful, but here's the html: <p> <a href="arcgis-survey123://?itemID=9804a1b685fa4864a7b84b4d07f4934e&field:SITEID={SITEID}"><img alt="Field Parameters Survey" src="https://dabuttonfactory.com/button.png?t=Field+Parameters+Survey&f=Roboto-Bold&ts=15&tc=fff&tshs=1&tshc=000&hp=10&vp=8&c=5&bgt=gradient&bgc=6aa84f&ebgc=274e13&shs=1&shc=444&sho=s" /></a> </p> <p> <a href="arcgis-survey123://?itemID=c14ab0a5dbde486591d4c0e85dccb418&field:SITEID={SITEID}"><img alt="Macros Survey" src="https://dabuttonfactory.com/button.png?t=Macros+Survey&f=Roboto-Bold&ts=15&tc=fff&tshs=1&tshc=000&hp=10&vp=8&c=5&bgt=gradient&bgc=6aa84f&ebgc=274e13&shs=1&shc=444&sho=s" /></a></p> Any idea what's going on with the Macros survey? Thanks! Lynn

Hi Jim, I had a feeling the answer would be no...so a nested IF is exactly what I did. Thanks! Lynn

Conductivity will be collected via the survey, and will be used to calculate TDS. Below is the scale for the calculation of TDS based on Conductivity: 0 to 23.0 (multiply by 0.64) 23.1 to 84 (multiply by 0.60) 84.1 to 447 (multiply by 0.67) 447.1 to 1413 (multiply by 0.71) 1413.1 to 1500 (multiply by 0.70) 1500.1 to 2070 (multiply by 0.72) 2070.1 to 2764 (multiply by 0.75) 2764.1 to 8974 (multiply by 0.85) 8974.1 to 12880 (multiply by 0.88) 12880.1 to 15000 (multiply by 0.90) 15000.1 to 80000 (multiply by 0.99) Rather than using a complex calculation, I was wondering if I could use pulldata to determine which multiplier to use. Thanks, Lynn

Thank you Archit! As you suggested, I renamed the folder to My Survey Designs_old. When I restarted Connect, it created a new My Survey Designs folder and I was able to download the ones that I've already published. I had to recreate the one I was working on (that isn't yet published), by copying the xls form from the "old" folder. Any idea what caused this problem? Lynn p.s. Bill, I like your suggestion to save the older version(s) of Connect just in case. Will be doing that from now on!

I was making a few updates to some surveys this morning, and suddenly Survey123 Connect was not finding my survey designs. As in, I cannot open the surveys at all. I checked, and everything is there in C:\Users\lberni\ArcGIS\My Survey Designs. Here's the warning when I try to open a survey: Also, any new surveys that I just created are not showing in Connect at all. They are, however, being saved in the My SurveyDesigns folder. I'm using Connect v 3.0.142, which I updated to several weeks ago. This is very disconcerting. Please advise asap. Thanks, Lynn

Hi Phil, Thanks for the feedback. Per your suggestions, I changed the SITEID note field to a read-only text field (in fact, I changed all my calculated notes!). In the bind::esri:parameters field for the begin repeat question, I had allowUpdates=true. I have now changed that to query allowUpdates=true allowAdds=true. I republished and retested my survey, but it did not solve the problem. I also tried changing the syntax to include a "=" after "query": query=allowUpdates=true allowAdds=true. That didn't work either. Btw, it would be helpful if Prepare for editing existing survey data—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS was a bit more specific about the correct bind::esri:parameters syntax for repeats. Based on what I had read there, I thought that allowUpdates=true was correct. Please advise, thanks! Lynn

Hi Phil, I am not using a repeat count and the relevant statements are referencing questions *inside* the repeat only. Here's a link to my XLS form. Thanks! Lynn

There are multiple threads on this same topic. I'm having the same problem. Data in first repeat is lost when the survey is reopened from Drafts or Outbox. It's only data in relevant fields, and all are referenced within the repeat. The repeat also includes a date/time field, with default set to now(). That gets reset too, to the current date/time (ugh). I just saw the blog post Minor Update to Survey123 Available (August 30, 2018), which states that this problem has been resolved. So I: confirmed that we are on the latest version of the ios app (3.0.149) installed the latest version of Connect (3.0.142) republished surveys downloaded "updated" surveys to ipad Nada. It's still deleting/resetting relevant fields in the first repeat. I don't know if this was happening prior to 3.0.

We are generating unique sample id's based on the following calculation: concat('MA ',once(format-date(now(), '%Y%m%d %H%M%S%3'))) It seemed to have been working just fine, until I noticed a couple of funky ids, where the concatenated "MA" is being added multiple times! (see screenshot). Any idea what's going on here?
