I have tried "PointsToLine_management" which almost does what I need it to do. And that tool works in ArcMap. So I guess the script should work. Is it a bug?

Yes it is Z enabled. You can see it at the image I have attached, that there is a z-coordinate. You can edit Z values in ArcMap by typing z values in sketch properties.

Hi. I have a series of points with X,Y,Z coordinates. I am trying to create a polylines from the points. Points should be vertexes of the polyline and Z-Coordinate should be used to define the elevation of vertexes. I have created a script which works, but the Z-Coordinate is lost on vertexes and is recorded as ZERO. I am sure that my script is correct because if I pass the Z-Coordinate into the M value, it is recorded correctly. The part of the script which creates the line can be seen below: vertexArray = arcpy.Array() for points in pointArray: xCoord = valueX yCoord = valueY zCoord = valueZ # valueZ is also passed to M dimension to test if there are some problems with values currentPoint = arcpy.Point(valueX, valueY, valueZ, valueZ) vertexArray.add(currentPoint) newLineCursor = arcpy.da.InsertCursor(outputFc, ["SHAPE@"]) polyline = arcpy.Polyline(vertexArray) newLineCursor.insertRow([polyline]) The script runs wihtout problems, and the polylines are created. But when I check in ArcMAP the polyline under sketch properties all the vertexes on line have null as Z-Coordinate (see image bellow). I have just tested to convert points with arcpy.PointsToLine_management, and it works correctly. I could implement this in my script, but I am still curious as to why is Z-Coordinate not recorded properly with my script. Thanks, Martin

Hi. I have run into another problem. Following the Peter's advice helped when geocoding in ArcMap. However, once I published the geocoder as a service on ArcGIS server, I need to enter the address in the following format when using REST API: <housenr> <streetname> Using the same service in ArcMap accepts the address in format <streetname> <housenr>. Any idea?

So in other words, currently if you set attribute to be editable but hidden (the display checkbox is unchecked), it will not show up in AGOL and on Android devices in edit session. However, it will show up on iOS. This is a good feature, so hopefully it will be fixed in future releases. Thanks you for your answer. Martin S.

Hi. Our customer couldn't edit some attribute fields of selected feature on android. The fields were set at arcgis online to be editable, but to be hidden outside of edit session. If they are hidden, they do not appear when user edits the feature either, if though they are set to be editable. Is there some workaround for this? Currently I have enabled the fields to be visible and editable as well, but it is a nice feature that I can set some fields to be shown only under edit session.

Thanks for the help. I had little trouble to finding the loc.xml file, becuase I have created my geolocator in Geodatabase. However, I moved it out of gdb, and saved it just in a windows folder. Then I was able to find the file and make the change. -- Martin

Thanks for the tip. I investigating further after I posted my question and that is what I used. Here is my code, using Jquery selectors: // Get width of map div var mapDivWidth = $("#mapDiv").width(); // Get width of the div which is partialy obscuring the mapDiv var tableListWidth = $("#propertyList").width(); // Get the min and max X coordinate of the current map var minX = map.toMap(esri.geometry.ScreenPoint(0,0)); var maxX = map.toMap(esri.geometry.ScreenPoint((mapDivWidth-1),0)); // Calculate the current pixel resolution var pointResolution = (maxX.x - minX.x)/mapDivWidth; // Get the correct map center var currentMapCenter = (mapDivWidth - tableListWidth) / 2; // Get the wished offset in coordinate system units offset = ((mapDivWidth / 2) - currentMapCenter) * pointResolution; //...... follows the code where I apply the offset

I would like to offset the map recentering by x number of pixels. How can I do this. map.centerAt(point) - The argument takes a coordinates. However I would like to move the center 50 px to the left from real center. I guess I could calculate the resolution of the pixel based on the current map scale and than calculate the distance I need to move the map. But I am wondering if there is a simpler way of panning the map by defining number of pixels, rather than the coordinates at which to center. Thanks, Martin

Did you manage to solve this issue. I just ran into the same problem. I have used an example from ESRI samples to create my geolocate widget. ---------- Martin

That's a good idea and I will give it a try. But I am not sure that you can define a border just on one side of the feature by using PictureFillSymbol. ------- Martin

Hi. I have created a map which shows properties for sale. Map can be seen here: http://fastognir.kort.fo When I zoom in on map, the symbols which identify the location of the property change to images of the properties. I define the image by PictureMarkerSymbol. When zoomed out I use different colors to differentiate between property types, such as terraced, semi terraced, apartment, bungalow, etc.... I would like to propagate this colors unto the images. So my questions are: Is there a way to add a border around the PictureMarkerSymbol, preferably border on right side, 15px wide. Is there a way to change the properties of the image by css. I tried and I have successfully added a custom css style by using jquery selectors on the fly once the images are generated by using event listner (on map update end), but the sytling didn't show on the map. Currently I solved the problem by adding a new grapahic layer, which adds borders, but this is not optimal, especially in areas where images are overlapping. Also I do not like the idea of using multiple graphics layers if not necessary. Attached images show the zoom in and zoom out state of the map. Thank you for the answer. This just confirms my conclusion. I have created a function which converts the coordinates, and hoped that I could pass them to the geolocate widget. Unfortunatelly, this is not possible. Maybe a good idea for a new feature in the future.

I am trying to place a locate button widget on my map. My map is in UTM29 projection and it seems that locate button only work withgeographical coordinates. When I set an ESRI map to background map, it works. I have a script which can convert the input coordinates to WGS84, but I am not able to find out how to pass the converted coordinates to the locate button. Is there any way how to get locate button to work with different projection (coordinate system)? Thanks Martin

Hi. I am trying to create geolocator which will geocode addresses in Faroe Islands. The address format is basically very simple. The format is following: <Street name> <House Number> <City> <ZIP Code> I was able to successfully to use the Single House style which is included in ArcGIS Desktop. However, this style requires addresses to be entered in format <House Number> <Street Name>, and my addresses come in <Street Name><House Number> format. How can I customize the locator file, in order to achieve this? Or any other suggestion? Thanks, Martin S.
