That behavior is expected because there is no ArcMap or Pro on the server machine. However, if you go ahead and publish a web tool with an R script in it, it shouldn't affect the web tool running.

Francesco, I thought that subtitle in the config.json passed the actual <div> elements that go into index.html. Nope not at all. It is just a string that goes to the header controller widget and that string gets set to the HeaderController Widget.html subtitleNode as it's innerHTML. The proper way to do it is to add a new html element to the HeaderController Widget.html and then add your logic (button click event) to the Widget.js.

Rob, Apparently refreshing the page did not help but restating the entire WAB did the trick! Seems like they still have some issues thought with their ListView widget...even using the zipped one provided by the ESRI employee at the end of the thread you linked at the beginning does not show all the thumbnails and title correctly...Oh well, hopefully they will fix it for good soon.

As of now, the output of a GP widget can be rendered in Web AppBuilder (Dev Edition) to use either a single symbol, or a unique symbol based on a categorical attribute, or color ramps for pre-defined domain ranges on quantitative attributes. However, the domain range (MIN-MAX) needs to be pre-determined and set by the user ahead of time. This works when the output layer has a fixed range of values, but what if the quantitative attribute (e.g. transported goods, soil Ph, return of investment, etc.) drastically changes depending on the study area? Having a pre-defined range does not work anymore. IDEA: Wouldn't it make more sense to grab the attribute MIN and MAX dynamically from the selected attribute in the dropdown menu "To show"?

I am trying to find resources to build some easy in-application tutorials for my web app. An example of what I am trying to accomplish is used for the Landsat Explorer app (click on tutorial widget). It basically shows hands-on step-by-step interactive tutorials for a number of features and widgets inside the web app. Does anyone have any online resource or code examples I can use and follow to build something similar?

Does WAB 2.5 (Dev Edition) have any option to export the operational layer result of a GP widget as a shapefile? When clicking the ellipses (...) in the output tab I do not see any option like that. If that is the case, would something like Geoprocessing service example: Clip And Ship—ArcMap | ArcGIS Desktop also work to extract a shapefile out of an operational layer result as well? Thank you!

In WAB Dev Edition, users are currently allowed to group several GP widgets together. However, the more GP tools are grouped, the more it becomes messy and confusing to navigate (see below). Wouldn't it be great to see WAB Dev Edition enhance the nesting and grouping capabilities of multiple GP widgets/tasks by having an organization similar to what AGOL already has for the Analysis widget (below)? Tools are neatly organized and nested, expanding and collapsing by clicking on the desired task (plus thumbnails tied to each one).

Hello Francesco, I think what's happening is that after you've performed the join, the data frame structure is changed to accommodate the join. So the rows don't line up with what arcgisbinding expects, and there's a mismatch between data structures. I've discussed this with another developer, and probably the most robust way for us to support this is to implement direct support for the dplyr style joins. For now, please see this example which uses spdplyr to do the join with sp class objects: https://community.esri.com/thread/196578-impossible-to-use-dplyr-join-functions-on-data-frames Cheers, Shaun

Yiwei, I used the zipped folder you provided in your last message and placed the ListView widget inside the stemapp/widget folder. I created a new WAB dev edition locally and tested the widget settings, but it still does not show any field in the thumbnail and title sections. I am using the feature layer mentioned in the tutorial, but it does not populate those two fields still.

If anyone happens to be asking, how does one change this in Portal (Enterprise GIS)... You can change to custom so that any Web Apps built in Portal will reflect the new icon. To make the changes in Portal: (2d and 3d viewer app types) Browse to the Portal Install directory (each Portal if HA) [portal install directory]\apps\webappviewer\images Rename the shortcut.ico to shortcut_ORIG.ico Add your favorite ico that youd like to be used in all web app 2d viewers and name it shortcut.ico You can make the changes for 3d viewers as well. [portal install directory]\apps\webappviewer3D\images
