Thank you for all your excellent comments and solutions. I can confirm that the above approach works a treat. And I'm glad I wasn't going made when trying to filter the data. In the end, I ran the Create Bounding Volume tool on the highly complex models, to made crude versions, and then swapped out the mulipatch before generating the SLPK building package. My next challenge is that some of the model elements from Revit appear to be offset in the x y and z from the main bulk of the model (up to kilometres away in some cases. This potentially implies that they aren't referencing the base/survey points correctly somewhere between Revit and Pro.

Fantastic. That's worked a treat too. Thank you. Next challenge is to try and successfully publish a Building Scene Layer. On that note, I don't suppose you know a way of improving the resolution of the Creat Bounding Volume tool in concave mode do you? I have some very complex multipatches that I'm trying to simplify by just extracting the volume and doing away with the individual elements and internal features.

You're quite right, that worked a treat. However, is it possible to style the layers once they've been published in this way? My original multipatch FCs had a stroke applied so the outlines were visible. But this gets lost in the hosted scene layer. Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately I can't share the data for commercial reasons. I have uploaded a GDB with just multipatch FCs and the resultant Hosted Scene Layer yields the following error in a scene viewer: [Layer name] cannot be loaded Multipatch Feature Services are not supported.

Hi Russell, Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, what I'm trying to achieve here is actually a workaround from using the Create Building Scene Layer tool. This is because (see my other forum post here) one of my Revit families "Generic Model" is too complex to keep in the SLPK and is freezing my PC when i try to run the tool. Therefore, I was looking at other options. To be honest, this is proving to be a bigger problem than I realised, as my other post today indicates that I can't even host a simple multipatch FC to AGOL using Pro 2.5. So i have a few bugs to squash before I can get a decent workflow.

I am trying to publish a simple multipatch FC to ArcGIS Online as a scene layer (RMC in TOC > Sharing > Share As Web Layer) but the tool fails with Status: Failed StatusMessage: Problem submitting tile caching job ErrorMessage: Problem submitting tile caching job Then, a Hosted Scene Layer appears in ArcGIS Online along with a Hosted Feature Layer. The 2D feature layer opens and is viewable in a web map, but if I open the Scene Layer I get the error: Scene Layer version is not supported. Detected version: , Supported versions: 1.x

I have extracted a BIM Revit file into individual multipatch feature classes for each BIM category, and I would like to create a WebScene with the ability to switch the layers on/off and identify model attributes. I haven't been able to find a defined workflow for performing this, and don't really want to have to export an SLPK for each category, but can if that's required.

Im trying to create a Building Scene Layer Package from a 2020 Revit model in Pro 2.5. One of the model families (Generic Model) has incredibly complex geometries in it, that i want to filter out of the resultant SLPK. However, when i select my model in the Contents panel, the "Building Filter" tool isn't available from the "Manage" ribbon (it should be). I have managed to find out (by adding the tool to the quick access ribbon) that this tool is greyed out, and hoevering over it yields the following tip: This Command is currently disabled: The layer is missing statistical information. Is that something I can resolve? Or is there something fundamentally wrong with the Revit file? Or has Pro 2.5 been released with Revit 2020 functionality, without ensuring all Pro tools are compatible?

I'm hoping someone's going to respond from ESRI on this soon, as all our customers have transitioned to 2020, and we can no longer support until this is updated.

I have a Tile Service that connects in QGIS as a Tile Service: https://mt1.google.com/vt/lyrs=y&x={x}&y={y}&z={z}
If i try and bring into AGOL via the Tile Layer insertion menu, it fails to return tiles (im assuming because it's an XYZ service rather than TMS).
I amended the quad keys to match the AGOL syntax as follows:
https://mt1.google.com/vt/lyrs=y&x={col}/{row}/{level}.jpg
(I've reordered col/row/level to match the xyz order of the tms.)
Can anyone get this url to work in AGOL? Would it need to be converted before bringing into a web map?
Regards,
David

Hi Annina, Thank you for pointing me to that. It looks like there are a couple of ideas on this topic. I figured that rather than restrict this functionality to ops dashboard, it would be better to have the functionality to create a layer view that aggregates the geometries and attributes into 1 service.

I would like the ability to create pie charts from aggregated layers. And i think the best way to do this would be to have the functionality to combine more than one feature service into a single layer view. The geometry would need to be kept separate so that we can work with combinations of point/line/polygon, but the rest of the attribute data coudl be combined into a single table, in order to incorporate into statistical analysis.

I Have an operations dashboard for tree survey data in both point and polygon layers. The underlying attribute schemas are the same, and i would like to show some statistics on my dashboard based on 4 attribute values (condition, priority, species, condition). However, currently, i need to make 8 pie charts, in order to account for these 4 values in both the point and polygon layers. If it's not possible to aggregate layers in a single pie chart, is ther a way of creating a layer view that combines more than 1 feature services? I'm guessing the answer to both of these questions is no. Which would be a shame, and definitely a good ArcGIS Idea.

I have a further question to this. If i have an existing feature service with photo attachments, and i create a local copy for synchronised editing on arcmap. i can create a new feature class and assign my correct (Not Nullable) required fields, and then import the data from the original feature service, but how can i relink the attachment table? im guessing it's about generating a new relationship class between the attachment table and the new feature class, but im unsure of the steps.
