Hi all, I have a shapefile with a bunch of features inside. some of these features overlap each other. I need to essentially do a union and maintain attributes of all features. e.g. burn in all linework and where there is overlap have the feature values for all features in overlap. How can this be done?

Hi all, I am trying to loop a tool and with every result of the loop to add it to the last. I have a default raster created (all 1's) to add the first instance too. I have tried collect values and then cell statistics, but as the list in collect values grows with successive looping, the cell statistics slows way down. I figure that if I just do an addition it will only ever have two rasters to think about at once. Naturally, I am in modelbuilder, but if you have python ideas, that could work. Here is basically what I am trying to do: In raster = RAS1 Out Raster = RAS2 SUM = RAS3 Shape = SHP1 For each record in SHP1 RAS2 = Process of SHP1 record and RAS1 RAS3 = RAS2 + Last RAS3 next Thanks, David P.S. I have no idea how this new forum works, sorry if this ends up somewhere strange.

I know this is old but use: Select Data (modelbuilder) Select polygon as your data element and use output or run feature class to feature class after select data to create polygon of the coverage polygon.

I realize it has been a while since this post, but I have need for something similar and am looking for some help. I have a model that iterates through row selections and creates a coverage. I need each of these coverages unioned and can't figure out how to loop all the unions that I would need. I am not the best python guy yet, so I was hoping that you could help me through your python code considering I need to use coverage union. Thanks, David

Ran into this problem again; I have already posted, but I just want to make sure people know.... PUT .SHP TO THE END OF YOUR FILE NAME WHEN CREATING AND THE ERROR GOES AWAY.

Hi all, I have a model where there is an iterator in the middle that takes a row selection from an input feature class, selects features from a separate process based on that row selection, and calculates a value for that selection. There are 30-40 rows that will be iterated. My model keeps re-processing the static end result before the iterator. Sorry if I am butchering the explanation of this, maybe the image will explain it a little better.... Thoughts on how to make the model run the process before the iterator only once? I need this process in there as I may need to re-run this as my inputs are updated. Thanks,

I was getting this error in modelbuilder. Trying to dissolve and pass the result on to an add field. It wouldn't pass saying it didn't exist. As my output from the tool I had %value%\Name. The output appeared in its correct file folder but would not pass. After playing around, I tried adding '.shp' to the output name and it passed. Not sure if that is too basic and everyone new that, but just in case....

Hi All, The title tells you what I am doing. I cannot get the focal statistics to work within raster calculator which is within model builder. I have dumbed it down to just focal statistics inside of the raster calculator just to work through it and I am stumped. I have tried: FocalStatistics( "%TPI%", NbrRectangle(5,5, "CELL"), "MEAN", "") FocalStatistics( "TPI", NbrRectangle(5,5, "CELL"), "MEAN" ) - this works in raster calculator outside of modelbuilder FocalStatistics( "%TPI%", NbrRectangle(5,5, "CELL"), "MEAN" ) FocalStatistics( "%TPI%", NbrRectangle( 5, 5, "CELL"), "MEAN", "") What is modelbuilder looking for from me here????? erg

I have it solved....... put the output from iterate rasters to the collect values model tool. Use the output of that as the input in the raster calculator. So pull %name% not from the iterate rasters but from collect values.

Hi All, I have a function I want to apply to a raster. I have multiple rasters, each will need this function applied. Here is the function: ( 11.16 * Sin( FocalStatistics( "%Name%", NbrRectangle( 3, 3, ???CELL??? ), "MEAN", "" ) ) / ( 0.765 + 2.625 * FocalStatistics( "%Name%", NbrRectangle( 3, 3, ???CELL??? ), "MEAN", "" ) ) ) / ( 11.16 * Sin( FocalStatistics( "%Name%", NbrRectangle( 3, 3, ???CELL??? ), "MEAN", "" ) ) / ( 0.765 + 2.625 * FocalStatistics( "%Name%", NbrRectangle( 3, 3, ???CELL??? ), "MEAN", "" ) ) + 1 ) As you can tell I have instigated 'iterate rasters' to get the %Name% input. I have this function currently stored in raster calculator within model builder. When I try and run the tool it crashes out saying that the raster does not exist.....it exists so obviously I am referencing it wrong inside of raster calculator but i don't see where I am going wrong. I am running 10.1. Any help would be appriceated.
